Summer isn’t over yet — and there’s still plenty of time to get out there.

Whether you’re looking for a few hours on the water or a few days deep in the backcountry, our canoe, kayak and SUP rentals can get you there. We even have all the equipment to outfit your camping trip.

Forest The Canoe is taking a little time off.

We’re closing for a week to go camping, fishing, paddling, and generally doing a little less of the “work” part of being outside.

The canoe is coming, obviously. We have standards.

We’ll be back soon — hopefully with some great stories, a little more sun on our faces, and plenty of time spent doing exactly what we love.

We are closed August 16 - 22.

There's something pretty special about seeing Sault Ste. Marie from the water.

We took a fantastic crew from the Holiday Inn Express Sault Ste Marie on a paddle around Topsail Island, trading traffic for paddle strokes and city noise for the sound of water and birds.

A few cookies from Gelato Mill somehow made the afternoon even better. (As if paddling wasn't enough.)

Not a bad way to spend a day.
