Childhood to classrooms: USask graduate students reflect on 25-year friendship - College of Education University of Saskatchewan (USask) College of Education alumni Megan Lindquist (BA’19, BEd’19) and Taylor McGregor (BSKI’19, BEd’19) have carried their lifelong friendship into their teaching careers.

Meet our July 2026 Huskie Woman of Influence presented by Health Sciences Association of Saskatchewan (HSAS)✨🤼‍♀️

This past May Huskie Wrestling alumna Katie Dutchak became a Senior National Champion, taking home the gold medal at the Canadian Wrestling Championships 🥇🏆

She is also a U SPORTS gold and bronze medalist, in addition to being a 3X Canada West gold medalist and 2X silver medalist.

As she prepares and trains to compete at World Championships this upcoming October in Kazakhstan, Katie reflects on her journey to the podium and beyond.

In an incredible story of pivots, loss, grief, love, competition and triumph… Katie’s resilience, drive and optimism will leave you inspired.

From a passion for engineering and space to a lifelong love of Huskie pride, one Engineering alumnus is making a lasting impact where it matters most: Supporting future generations through education and sport.

Born and raised in Saskatchewan, Mike Maguire graduated from with his B.Eng, followed by an MA in engineering and engineering physics with the Institute of Space and Atmospheric Studies (ISAS) in 1992.

Now he is giving back through the Michael C. Maguire P. Eng. Huskie Athletic College of Engineering Award, an annual scholarship awarded to a senior athlete and engineering student.
