I honoured her by talking about her, drinking her favourite Chai and lighting candles.
I remember her boundless kindness, her deep curiosity and her calm loving presence.

As we face the longest night of the year, may we have the courage meet the dark
May we honestly sit with what’s been hard ( for ourselves and others), what we have lost, what we have witnessed other’s lose, what didn’t work out for ourselves and others, and what has left us and others behind
May we not rush through, but know how to patiently sit with the darkness, the hardship and that which cannot be fixed
May we know that light returns because cycles hold fast.
Light doesn’t erase reality - it gives visibility to act, not solely for ourselves, but for our communities of human and non-human beings.
The light is not ours alone
As the light returns to the world may clarity return where there has been confusion
May warmth return where there has been hardness
May we act with integrity in the days ahead
May we welcome the return of the light and accept the responsibility it brings
