🔨 Renovation Update: The Walls Are Going Back Up! 🔨
This week brings another exciting milestone in our window project!
The block is going back in, now that the structural supports and steel framing are in place. It’s another big step toward getting our new windows installed.
Blockwork ✔️
Structural supports ✔️
Window framing...next!
New windows...coming soon!
It’s exciting to see all the work that has gone into preparing these openings and watching everything come together.
We’re getting closer to letting the light in!

This weekend was all about getting our amazing Canadian Championship volunteers geared up!
With our renovations underway, we got creative and turned swag bag pickup a.k.a. uniforms and lanyards into a drive-through system, and it worked out great!
A huge thank-you to members of our Board of Directors for doing such a fantastic job volunteering and helping make everything run smoothly. And a special shout-out to Peter, who spent the week getting all those bags ready while working through renovations.
And of course, thank you to everyone who came out Saturday and Sunday to pick up your items and make the process so easy!
We’re so excited to have such an incredible group of volunteers helping make the Canadian Championship a success. Let’s do this! 🏆🇨🇦
Thank you, volunteers! ❤️

Behind the Scenes: A Tool Upgrade!
Wednesday night we showed you the work Kevin is doing underneath the ice. Today, it's all about the tools! Once the sand dries, Kevin has to rake it back smoothly over the pipes and work down all those ridges you can see in the photos.
🥌Old school meets new school! 🥌
Old Broomstick tool: Many years of service!
Modern New tool: A much-needed upgrade!
We're hoping this fancy new tool makes the job a little quicker and easier for Kevin as he works his way across the ice.

🔨 Renovation Update: A Look Underneath It All 🔨
We’ve been sharing lots of photos of the exciting changes happening around the St. Thomas Curling Club, but today we're taking you somewhere a little less glamorous, the downstairs change rooms and washrooms!
The ceilings have been completely opened up, and the women's change room will eventually receive a brand-new ceiling as part of the work.
Why open everything up?
Because a renovation of this size isn't just about what you can see on the finished walls.
Behind those ceilings, there are electrical systems, plumbing, ventilation and other infrastructure that all need to be accessed, updated, relocated or examined as the project moves forward.
It's a good reminder of just how much work, and how much disruption, goes into renovating an entire facility.
Our washrooms and change rooms may look a little chaotic right now, but this is all part of the process. Areas throughout the club have had to be opened up so the work can happen properly and safely.
So here's a little glimpse of the underside of our club and everything happening behind the scenes.
It may not be pretty right now... but we're seeing progress everywhere! And someday soon, we'll be looking back at these photos and remembering just how far we've come.
Thanks for following along with us through every dusty, noisy and exciting stage of this renovation!
