✨ A Legendary Moment at the Houston Rodeo ✨
Roy Rogers, Dale Evans, and the Sons of the Pioneers

One of my most treasured memories goes back to the late 1940s or early ’50s, when Roy Rogers, Dale Evans, and the Sons of the Pioneers headlined the Houston Rodeo and Fat Stock Show.

It was held in the old coliseum back then, smaller than today’s arenas, but just as full of energy and excitement.

The moment that stayed with me came at the very end. Roy Rogers, the King of the Cowboys, rode his golden palomino slowly around the arena, reaching down to shake hands with children along the rail.

I was one of them.

When his hand met mine, I made a promise I’d never forget… I wouldn’t wash it. Decades later, I still remember that moment like it was yesterday. 🤠✨

It was more than just a show. It was music, magic, and a glimpse of the warmth and kindness that made Roy and Dale true legends.

Good Morning everyone! As we attend our first horse show of the 2026 season this weekend, Just a reminder to all to have a fun time and remember we do this for the love of our horses and to developing as riders. You will have ups and downs this year, but remember to pat your horse, take a deep breath and just enjoy the moments learning and memories created. 💖
