The 3rd Annual TSA Gold Summer Golf bash was another great success!

14 Teams competed under the threat of rain on August 8 but the curling gods showed mercy and all teams were able to complete the round without getting wet.

After a fun round of golf, teams were treated to a great meal by LVIV Catering followed by a great evening of entertainment by Wayne Hansen and surprise backup singer.

Thanks to Fernand Pelletier of Ankar Creative for donation of great prizes. Drop by his shop on Union street for all your promotional needs or just to drop in and say hi.

Team Sinclair (Iain Sinclair, Helen Loiuse-Mitchell, Rob Moore, Tracey Gallant) won their 3 rd championship in a row. Wow these guys are good!!!!

Our Closest to the pin winners:
#3 – Men - Mike Theriiault
#3 – Ladies – Rose Theriault
# 6 – Bruce McDonogh
#10 – Men – Ross Mouland
#10 – Ladies – No winner
#18 - Rose Theriault

Longest drives on #17:
Men – Rob “Bomber” Moore
Ladies - Tracey “ The Cannon” Gallant

Of course, the big winners are from our elimination draw. Throughout the night Wayne eliminated everyone that was entered in the event – with 2 names remaining for the bar tab prize of $100 and runner up of $50. With 3 names remaining Wayne drew Mark McKinnon eliminating him from the final 2. So the Final Elimination Draw Winners (Blame Wayne lol):
Winner $100 Bar Tab: Janice Monteith
Runner-Up $50 Bar Tab: Doug Thompson

Thanks to everyone that came out!

After one of our number got an albatross last month, three of our Day Ladies accomplished the lawn bowls equivalent of an eight-ender!

Congratulations to Marilyn Taylor, Lana Mouland and Debbie Boudreau for achieving a “Perfect End” (9 bowls) during a competition for the Atlantic Triples held at Seaside Lawn Bowling Club on August 1, 2026.

Congrats to one of our members for bagging a big bird!

Club member Danny Armstrong proudly shows off the ball he hit into the 5th hole from 213 yards out after a great drive from the blue tees, usually playing about 465 yards. An albatross! Google says the odds of this happening for a recreational golfer is 6-million-to-1, much more rare than a hole-in-one.

This feat was accomplished at Rockwood on the par-5 5th hole on Thursday, July 9. His playing partners witnessed him crush a big drive 254 yds up on the hill, and then a fantastic 3-wood from 213 yards that faded right to left to catch the inside of the hill in front of the green which then bounced directly toward the red flag. When the group arrived on the green a few minutes later, his Taylormade TP5 was resting in the bottom of the cup... right where it should be after such a great drive and a great approach shot.

Great shot, Dano!!

His playing partners that day are helping him show off the ball. From left to right, Bill Gates, Jeff Stewart, Danny, and Wayne Hansen.

We have an update from the Ice Committee on the Header Pipe:

Project has gone well with very few hiccups. The last pic is what we were facing at the start of the project with 6-8“ of old sludge and paint from many years but we successfully got the trench clean so Black and Mac could start laying the new header pipe.

07/07/2026

We are going to begin the header project this week. We are looking for volunteers for next Thursday July 9th for an 8am start and possibly Friday.

We are looking for 6 to 8 individuals that can get down in the trench to shovel out the old paint and such to make room for the new header pipe. Bring a shovel and if you have a wheel barrow that would be very helpful. Rubber boots would be a great idea as well.

If you are able to assist send Mike a note.

Congratulations to Team Kelly and Coach Judy Blanchard!!! Great pairing announcement.

We are thrilled to announce the newest addition to Team Kelly — our new coach, Judy Blanchard!

Judy is a highly decorated curler with an incredible resume that includes multiple Scotties and Senior appearances, and one World Championship. Her experience and knowledge of the game as a competitor will be a huge asset to our team and something we know will help push us to the next level.

Between her competitive mindset, teaching background, and fun, calm demeanor, she brings exactly the kind of energy and leadership we were looking to add to our team. We’re excited to learn from her, work with her, and have her in our corner this season.

Excited to officially welcome Judy to the squad! 🥌
