Most students can name a few universities. Some know about college programs. Very few have a clear picture of everything available to them — apprenticeships, college-to-university pathways, co-op programs, gap year options, and more.

A recent Maclean's roundup highlights five new 2026 programs built to tackle today's biggest challenges:

As we inch closer to a new school year, I want to welcome new followers to the Campus Compass page and share some exciting updates!

First, a little about me...

Hi, I'm Kara, the person behind Campus Compass. I'm a Career Development Practitioner and Post-Secondary Pathways Consultant with over 25 years of experience working with students, early talent, and the people who support them.

Through Campus Compass, I offer coaching, workshops, and resources for students in Grades 10–12, first-year post-secondary students, and early career professionals navigating their next big step.

Having spent over two decades working inside universities, colleges, and private career colleges, I don't just know the pathways, I know how the system works.

I recently took the lead on Campus Compass independently, and I'm so excited for what's ahead — including expanding our support to post-graduate studies preparation and career/job search coaching.
