Niagara Historical Fencing

Fight by the Falls is Niagara Historical Fencing's inaugural fencing tournament! It will be hosted at Westlane Secondary School, just a short drive from the falls in Niagara Falls, Ontario. It will take place over two days, November 28th and 29th. Each day will start at 8:30AM and end at 5PM.

For our tournament we will have two weapon categories that you can compete in: Longsword and Sabre. You can sign up for one or both of the event categories.

We had a wonderful time attending this years Frost on the Blade held by Dueling Weapons Academy of Renaissance Fencing. Ended up bringing home 6 medals! We truly thank DWARF for their hard work in offering such a great event year after year, and we look forward to the next one!

Its our clubs 5 year anniversary!

At our tournament this weekend we had the pleasure of promoting two of our students to assistant instructors! Byron and Mackenzie will be joining Matt, John, and Jason on the coaching team at NHF. Congratulations to them! ⚔️

We also gave our current assistant instructor Jason a much overdue certificate of achievement for his previous promotion as well!

Our free open house is tomorrow! It runs from 7PM to 9PM at Governor Simcoe Secondary School (entrance at the back). No registration or experience needed, just show up and we'll show you how to swordfight!

We ran our first ever in club tournament this weekend and it went great! We beta tested a new ruleset that we have been workshopping internally for some time now and it seemed to work really well! Standings are below:

Congratulations to all of our fencers and a huge thank you to everyone from our club that volunteered to make this tournament happen. A special shout-out to our tournament director Mackenzie for handling the majority of the tournament related logistics.

We had a great time at the Niagara renfaire this weekend. We got to meet a ton of great people and we put on three performances for the public which people seemed to enjoy! Thank you to all of our students and volunteers who came out and helped us with everything, we couldn't have done it without you ❤️⚔️
