I’m sorry for all the times I’ve complained about being too cold at curling. 🥵 Hope everyone has been staying cool this summer! Have you been up to anything fun (maybe pickleball at the club)? We’d love to hear about it!

If you’ve driven by the curling club recently, you may have noticed some activity going on outside. First, an awesome group of volunteers cleaned and repainted the exterior brick walls around the club. The exterior siding and insulation also got a much-needed refresh—turns out there was no insulation at the top of the walls!

Thank you to everyone involved in taking the time to come out and give the club a nice facelift during the off season!! 👏🏼👏🏼

Meme Monday, anyone? Pickleball season is underway at SCCC, so come on out!

It’s pickleball season at SCCC and we’re kicking things off with a fundraiser tournament to support our very own Marina in her battle against breast cancer. Recent scans have determined that Marina’s cancer has evolved to Stage 4 (called metastatic cancer), meaning it has now moved to other parts of her body. Marina has been in consultation with medical professionals both in Canada and in Germany. Based on her findings, the highest rate of survival would come from receiving treatment in Germany, where the survival rate is 15-20% higher than the global average. Total out of pocket cost for the four treatment sessions required is $32,000+. All funds raised from this tournament will go directly to supporting Marina and her young family during this difficult time.
