Last year we were part of a wreck expedition diving around Newfoundland. We dove the Hazel Pearl, a schooner off Champney’s West near Trinity Bay. Visibility was horrible. A storm was rolling in and waves and we weren’t sure what kind of a wreck we’d found at the time.

Matt found rigging and deadeyes and pulleys on the ocean floor at about 115’/34msw, but it wasn’t until we drifted into the mast that we actually knew a wreck was down there 😂

Our friend Neil Buegess was back out on it recently and shared these lovely pics of the ships wheel, companionway, foremast, winch and more.

What a fun night! Diving and a movie 🍿 🍕 💕 🦈.

So maybe the canal dive maybe was as a scary as the classic film JAWS but that didn’t stop over 24 divers from atte ding the dive and many stayed after for the film and some snacks.

Trent donated a little cool compact generator, Jamie brought his projector and speaker, Fawn made popcorn 🍿 with gummy sharks 🦈 in the bags, Grace brought pizza and Matt brought the van we screened it on and we had Sammy.

All in all a super fun night and big success.

Thanks to all who came out this was one for the books. Next we will be looking at the Abyss despite Matt suggesting JAWS 2,3,4 and Deep Blue Sea 🌊 he likes shark movies a little too much.

Matt says: “But each Jaws film has more scuba diving than the previous.”

That’s true but each one gets worse and worse too 🤦‍♂️
