Every clean and power jerk session teaches me something new.
I try to apply that lesson immediately while it’s fresh. Sometimes it’s bar path. Sometimes it’s timing. Sometimes it’s footwork. Every small adjustment makes the next rep better.
At 50, I’m still learning, still refining my technique, and still getting stronger. That’s what keeps training exciting.

People often see the heavy lift but not the work that supports it.
For me, the Javelin Push Press builds unilateral stability, shoulder control, and balance. The Power Jerk is where I get to use those qualities to move heavier weight with confidence.
Preparation produces performance.
Back squats continue to be one of the foundations of my training.
The objective isn’t simply lifting heavier—it’s staying strong, mobile, and capable as I get older. Every session builds toward long-term health, better performance, and a body that can keep doing hard things.

On this episode of Orange & Jobless…
Biggie has developed the simplest communication system ever.
He gives me one little meow, looks at me, then confidently walks away like the meeting is over and I’m expected to follow.
No explanation.
No negotiation.
Just another day working for management. 🍊🐈
I didn't start here.
Getting older doesn't automatically mean becoming stiff.
Your body doesn't stop adapting because you get older.
It stops adapting when you stop giving it a reason to.
This position wasn't given to me. I've earned it through years of consistent stretching.
No shortcuts. No magic routine. Just showing up and putting in the work over and over again.
Preparation produces performance.
Another day of building strength and work capacity.
Workout sequence:
• Power Sn**ch
• Front Squat
• Dumbbell Incline Press
• Wide-Grip RDL
• Landmine Single-Arm Press
Then I finished the day with another 20,000+ steps on the walking pad.
A lot of people think you have to choose between getting stronger or improving your conditioning. I'm finding that when you build both consistently, they actually support each other.
At 50, I'm simply documenting what preparation produces.

The wide-grip Romanian deadlift is more than a grip variation.
By widening your hands, you increase the demand on your upper back and lats while strengthening your hamstrings, glutes, and entire posterior chain through a controlled hip hinge.
At 50, my goal isn’t simply to lift weights. It’s to move better, become stronger, and build a body that’s capable for life.
Preparation produces performance.
People often assume getting older automatically means becoming stiff.
I don't accept that.
The mobility you see here wasn't built overnight, and it wasn't something I was born with. It's the result of years of showing up and putting in the work.
Age didn't take my mobility away because I kept training it.
I'm not trying to prove what's possible at 50. I'm showing what preparation produces.
Heavy single-arm landmine presses are a staple in my training because they build usable strength.
The angled press challenges the shoulders, core, and entire body while promoting stability and control. That’s exactly the kind of training I want after 50.
