The Richmond Sockeyes are a Junior “B” ice hockey team based in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. They were named the “Sockeyes” by the original owner and longtime Richmond resident and B.C. Allison was motivated to bring top-level junior hockey to Richmond while also encouraging local players to play closer to home and stay in school. Signed! We have signed 2009 forward Ewan Torrance from Sunshine Coast!
Last year Ewan scored 29 points for 10 goals and 19 assists in 30 games for DHA U17 Prep. Ewan also played 4 games for us as an affiliate player.

Trade! The Richmond Sockeyes trade for Griffin Brown, 2007 RD, Calgary from Williams Lake Mustangs in exchange for a PDF.
Griffin is a 6’4 RHD from Langdon, Alberta who will add leadership, toughness and pose to the backend of our team while adding to the offensive side of the game.

Bryce Strandt was another 4 year guy from Richmond and came to us after playing with GVC.
Bryce played 138 games over 4 seasons and scored 94 points for us.
Bryce was late to join the team for his 20 year old season but we were excited to add him later in the year and get a boost upon his return.
Bryce was a guy that could play all positions and often covered for us on defence.
Thank you for your time in Richmond and we look forward to seeing you in our annual Alumni Game!

William Huo was another pride of Richmond guy.
After playing at BWC and GVC, W***y played parts of 3 seasons for the Sockeyes.
In 3 years W***y played 113 games scoring 139 points! He got called up and started the season with the Seattle Thunderbirds of the WHL after his first season in Richmond.
W***y was a responsible two way forward that was on both the power play and the penalty kill and always had a smile on his face.
W***y makes coming to the rink everyday a fun place to be in and is always a great team mate.
