Update for this morning: I got all the MVP/Axiom SE mounted on the gridwall. Today I am building Discstation Shelves to hold the main bulk of stock discs. I wanted another section of gridwall to display SE from other brands, but I'm unsure that it will work, because the other wall is not a real wall. Considering solutions at the moment.

To be fair, the space I'm in now *is* looking better every day.

I have a dilemma. I've been looking at other commercial space for the store. This space over double the size, but also over double the cost of my current lease. I'm not sure I'm ready to take on the extra expense. If I do this, I would be going head-first into retail as I'd need to increase my sales quite a bit. I cover my living expenses with the business currently, but it would be hard to take a hit in the short term.
The options I have are to stay where I currently am, finish building out the small retail area, and see if retail works. Find larger space next Spring if this year goes well. This will cost basically no extra, as I've already budgeted a bit for shelving/displays and renovation.
Or I can dive headfirst into the larger space now, take on that risk, but there is possibility of big reward. This would also delay opening in store properly by roughly 2 weeks, which pushes into August, already starting to get too late into the season.
Any thoughts or advice for me? Or comments on this location? It's near Knight Street bridge. If you've been to the space I currently have, whether to pick up or browse or just say hi, I am curious what you think compared in terms of ease of access. It would be a year lease minimum, so location is definitely a factor. I know people already drive to other disc golf stores in the lower mainland so it would be nice to be that much closer to Vancouver and at least part of Burnaby. If my current location is already fine for you to get to, let me know!

These are the floppiest, softest discs I've ever felt. It's a wonder they don't just melt in my hands. Stop by the shop and give them a hold, you'll be as shocked as I am. https://rarediscgolf.com/products/doomsday-discs-area-51-bologna

Saturday Update: I got a bunch of discs put on the site and did some clean-up. There is a restock of Bokehs and a bunch of other fun things. Next week I'll have a big Innova restock and I will start building the in-store inventory now that some of the display is up. Mid-week I expect to get more shelves. Many of you have been asking for weekend days, and I will be doing that starting later in July. Tomorrow is a day off though, whew. See you Monday :) https://rarediscgolf.com/collections/recently-restocked

Small shop pupdate: half the slatwall is mounted and it's starting to look more like a real store. More shelves are on the way for mid next week.

Slatwall has been acquired! I'm actively looking for other retail space. If you've got any leads on something affordable please let me know. I'm mostly looking in 500 sq ft range, and ideally in South Vancouver, South Burnaby, North Richmond or New West area. I want to be the go-to disc golf store serving these communities.

"Nothing as permanent as a temporary solution," well this is my temporary solution until I get some proper retail shelves. Hopefully it doesn't become permanent 😆 also coming soon: posters to make the wall look less blank.
