๐ A Heartfelt Thank You to Parallel Welding! ๐ and Quesnel River Rush!
The Quesnel Curling Centre would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Parallel Welding Company for the outstanding work they recently completed at our facility. Your craftsmanship, professionalism, and willingness to support our community are truly appreciated.
A special thank you to Rick, Cole, Brandon, Tracy, Chris, and the entire team at Parallel Welding and a special shout out to our local home town team the Quesnel River Rush. Your dedication, hard work, and hometown pride helped make our centre a safer and better place for everyone who walks through our doors.
It is partnerships like these that remind us just how fortunate we are to live in a community where local businesses step up, support one another, and take pride in making Quesnel stronger.
We encourage everyone to support the amazing local businesses that continue to invest in our community. When we support hometown companies, we help build an even stronger future for all of us.

UPDATE: Thanks to our amazing community we got offers to do the work already! Thanks to everyone who shared ๐
----
The curling club needs some TLC and we're reaching out to you, our wonderful followers, to help us! Our outside staircases are needing proper guards put in place to keep us in code.
What we need: a metal fabricator to weld in extra guard protection on the outside staircases (2) at the Quesnel Curling Centre.
Our club manager, Eric, is willing to donate 50% off in our pro shop and 10% off any advertising within to anyone willing to donate their time. So this could be an amazing partnership if your company has been eyeing up some advertising space in the club anyways! Some funds are available if those incentives aren't quite enough to get the job done.
Please share this post far and wide in the community!
If you're interested, or maybe you know a friend of a friend looking for a sweet deal on some curling gear, please contact Eric Johnson, Manager, at 250-983-3491 or [email protected] to discuss.

๐ฃ๐ฃ We would like to officially welcome our new manager to the club! Eric Johnson will be taking over the manager duties of the club in September but has already started to learn the ropes. He brings a wealth of experience and an enthusiastic attitude that we think will be perfect for the role.
We can't wait to see how Eric helps to shape the future of the Quesnel Curling Centre!
๐ฅHe has shared a few words with us, so we can start to get to know him:
My name is Eric Johnson, thank you for this opportunity to be a part of this great Quesnel legacy. I was born here, grew up here, got married here, raised a family here and am grateful to have a connection with this club and its members - past, present and future. I enjoy Canadian culture, getting together with family and friends, sharing good times and making a strong community.
Beyond the rink, I bring a wealth of professional expertise to the club, with a background in various roles. I have a proven track record of managing teams, streamlining operations and leading projects with success. I have supervisor experience with Dengarry Professional Services, grew a strong network with other agencies, and gained a positive skill set for supporting the community. My leadership style is grounded in clear communication and a โcan doโ attitude. I have a lifelong passion for sports. Over the years I've played a wide variety of sports, gaining first hand experience in teamwork, strategy, and sportsmanship that define a successful athletic organization. This broad sporting background allows me to relate to curlers of all levels from competitive pros to those just picking up a broom for the first time.
I thank you, Dave, for teaching me to curl and introducing me into this excellent environment. I have a ton of respect for your long term stewardship here and look forward to working with you and all the other staff, volunteers and board members that make this place so successful.
My roots go deep here and my commitment to this area is life-long. I understand the value in a place where we can go to experience the game, the friendships, the celebrations and it will be wonderful to share these events with you all during this inspiring 2026-2027 Season. I am honoured to help grow this club and ensure it remains a vibrant, welcoming space to support this great community we love so much! Make sure to stop by and say hello as we work to make this season the best one yet!

A huge thank you to Andre's Electronic Experts Quesnel for their generous donation of a new iPad for the club!
The Shot Rock Lounge uses an iPad to control music and lighting upstairs, and our old one was not quite getting the job done anymore. This new iPad will be such a great help!
We're so appreciative of the amazing community we live in and hope you'll check out our local partners and donors for your business needs to support them just as they support us.
