Making homemade spaghetti and a cake for Martha’s birthday! 🎂🍝

As we often do, we’re making extra portions so Sirivik can share them with other members of the community. We’re even using some fresh tomatoes from the greenhouse! 🍅

For climbing and sports, good nutrition matters too. Wellbeing is not only about being active - it’s also about our everyday habits, including what we eat. Cooking healthy homemade food together is another way to learn, share skills and take care of ourselves and each other.

We’re happy to keep building this meaningful partnership with Sirivik, connecting food, wellbeing and community.

Stay tuned for the results!

Climbing has been going strong in Ivujivik since June! 🧗‍♀️
Our consultant, Samuel, has been there throughout the summer to support the activities, and we still have a few more weeks to go! Since 2024, it’s been amazing to see a growing community of climbers taking shape. And we have to say… the girls are definitely taking over the crag! 💪
Throughout the summer, instructors, animators, and mentors from our Inukjuak team also spend a few weeks in Ivujivik, sharing their experience and helping local climbers build the skills and autonomy to keep climbing and leading activities in their own community.
More and more young climbers are building their skills, confidence, and independence - and we love seeing the climbing community in Ivujivik continue to grow.
Girl power in Ivujivik! 🙌

🎓🧗‍♀️ A new adventure begins for Brian & Jasmine

We want to take a moment to congratulate Brian & Jasmine, two of our Inukrock animators, who are heading to College (Cégep) this year!
Over the past years, they have been an important part of the Inukrock team - developing their climbing and leadership skills, taking on more responsibilities, and helping create great experiences for younger climbers in the community.

We are incredibly proud to see them take this next step and continue building their own path !

Good luck at College (Cégep), Brian and Jasmine! We can’t wait to see where this new adventure takes you - and remember, you’ll always be part of the Inukrock family. 🧗‍♂️🎓

Hello everyone,

We’ve been busy this summer! ☀️

We started the summer with a team of eight staff members, and we’ve now grown to 19. Much of the season has been dedicated to hiring and training our new team, helping everyone build confidence and feel comfortable on the rock. Our returning staff members stepped up as mentors, welcoming the new recruits and sharing their knowledge and experience. That has been one of the highlights of the season.

At the crag, we’ve opened several new multi-pitch routes for beginners, along with a few new lead lines. We’ve also continued our training in bolting and route setting.

We’re not opening new routes and developing these skills just for the sake of it. Something exciting is on the way.

Thank you ESUMA for your support this summer !

Stay tuned… 🌱

Inukrock's journey began when four passionate Nunavummiut rock climbers embraced outdoor climbing. We honour the collective passion of our team who are central actors of the betterment of their communities. Today you can honour National Indigenous Peoples' Day by engaging in community events, reading Indigenous literature, and supporting Indigenous owned businesses. Nakurmiik!

The season is starting, our trainings are kicking off, and you can feel the energy everywhere - even the weather is telling us it’s time, with all the snow melting away. Beautiful days are ahead, and we’re ready for what’s coming next. ☀️

At Inukrock, we’re here to support Inuit youth through climbing, building confidence, leadership. As the season gets going, our young leaders are taking on new challenges, growing their skills, and inspiring each other every step of the way. 🧗

The warm days are coming, and so is a season full of growth, adventure, and youth-led momentum. 🌱

Good morning everyone! 🙌

Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at our spring cliff expeditions and team-building activities ❄️ We are grateful for the support of our community in helping us gather the resources needed to make these experiences possible.

Going on the land supports our staff wellbeing through outdoor activity, connection to nature, and time spent together as a team.

These expeditions also allow us to search for new climbing spots while strengthening youth leadership, teach to each other through hands-on learning and land-based experiences. 🧗✨

Last Saturday, we were back on lagoon cliff and there was still a lot of snow. ❄️
Even so, the team got some climbing in and put in the work to shovel and clear the routes so we can start the season a little earlier ! 🪏
Time spent on the land like this is about more than climbing. It’s about showing up, learning together, building skills, and creating space for everyone to grow — on and off the wall.
Huge thanks to Sirivik for their continued food support throughout the year - including the egg sandwiches you’ll spot in the video - and to M361, Moteur de stratégies sociales & ESUMA for their financial support, making this work possible !
Season’s almost here ! 🧗
