CARVING OUT MEMORIES
The great indigenous carver, Dempsey Bob, returned to his roots in Port Edward Friday to open a new exhibit at North Pacific Cannery Museum that pays tribute to the last generation of cannery workers. Joining me to check out the displays was my brother, Irwin, who used to throw rocks at Dempsey (and many other residents) when my family lived in Port Ed in 50s-60s.

Gloria called to congratulate me on The Urbariginal podcast and tell me how much she enjoyed it.
It was great to hear such positive feedback from such an accomplished media personality - and fellow Rupertite!

There were so many great stories, and so many people who shared incred...

WEIRD PLACE FOR A BOOK SIGNING
You never know who you’ll meet at your garage sale! Kim Spencer took time to sign our copy of her popular novel, “Weird Rules to Follow.” I know her family well, including cousins David and Arnie Spencer, whom I got into many shenanigans with!

She was the driving force of the project.
URBARIGI-NOTES: Do de Ryk thing Most people who have listened to the Urbariginal podcast would think that I was the driving force behind it, that it was a project that was in my head for some time. They would be wrong. Sure, it was my story and the stories of indigenous people I knew. I conducted the interviews, did the voice work...
