Congrats to the Scugog Lakers, who took home the trophy for the fastest women's team at the Barrie Dragon Boat Festival! Thanks to the for hosting an amazing event, we had a blast!

Scugog Lakers: Gold🥇at the Mississauga Dragon Boat Festival!

On June 20th, our Scugog Lakers women's crews had a great day in Mississauga, clinching gold in their division! These athletes knew their race plan inside and out, and executed it flawlessly.

Our number one goal is to be good humans, and these ladies showed both strength and sportsmanship out there. Way to go Lakers!

On June 13th, our Scugog Whitecaps (women's) and Scugog Islanders (mixed) competed in the Port Perry Dragon Boat Festival. 17 of our athletes competed in their very first race. Amazing!

Both of these crews were part of our 4-week Learn to Race program.

The Whitecaps improved their performance each race, and knocked 5 full seconds off their race time.

The Islanders shaved 7 seconds off their race time and placed 2nd in the B-Division final. They were also the fastest local team, which means they won the Bill & Carol Gonder Cup!

Such an amazing showing, we are so proud of these awesome athletes!

🥇 in their 200m knockout (⭐️ 7 second improvement over last season!)
🥇 in their 2km race (⭐️ 9 second improvement over last season!)

And an overall 🥈 in their division.
