Vixen….since I moved to the new farm 3 years ago she has been literally nothing but a pasture puff lol. Usually my ‘personal’ horse. The recent loss of a much loved schoolie convinced me to bring her into the lesson program on short notice.
Today we headed off to New Beginnings Equine Stables with only a handful of rides and only two with Maddison.
To say I am proud is an understatement!
She took everything in stride and pinned in all her classes including 3rd in both her over fences.
Thank you Maddison, you did amazing riding her today! 🏆

What? It’s over? Camp went by so fast I barely had time to take pics. Despite not being able to ride a couple of the days due to extreme weather, we filled our days with lots of fun, crafts & vaulting!
I have a last minute spot come available for next week’s camp (July 20-24) $ave $50 off 😊

So true. Come on out ladies! We can help make it happen! 😊

The best time to start learning how to ride a horse is around 8 years old. The next best time is today.... cue beginner adult riders. It always starts something like, "I've wanted to do this my whole life."

Almost every one of them follows it up with an explanation.

"I just never had the opportunity."

"My parents couldn't afford it."

"I grew up in the city."

"Life got busy."

It's funny how many adults feel like they have to justify chasing something they've dreamed about for years. As if wanting to learn something purely because it brings you joy somehow needs a reason??

I've watched adults apologize for being beginners.

They'll say things like, "I know I'm probably your oldest student," or "I know I'll never be that good."

And I always think... compared to what?

Who decided hobbies need an expiration date?

Who decided dreams belong to kids?

Also- like 25% of our program is adults. You aren't alone. And you can be good!

If you've been waiting for the "right time" to try the thing you've always wanted to do, this is your reminder that there probably isn't one.

There is only today.

And I can tell you from experience, I've never had an adult rider finish a lesson and say, "I wish I would've waited another ten years."

Usually they say the opposite.

"I wish I'd started sooner."

But sooner starts today.
