The Alberni Valley Bulldogs open their 25th Training Camp on Friday September 4th.

With 40 skaters and 5 goaltenders attending, the competition will be intense.

"We feel we have an excellent returning group of players and we're very pleased with the early results of our recruiting efforts, so our veterans will be pushed hard by the younger guys. It's an exciting time of year and we're eager to get started." said Martin.

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs are excited to announce the signing of 2006 born defenceman, Devin Berg.

“Devin is a solid 2 way defenceman who participated in our Minnesota tryout. His play and maturity was impressive.” said Head Coach and GM Joe Martin,

“He has NAHL experience and was the Captain of his High School team, Minnetonka High, one of the top clubs in the their league.”

In 2024-25, the 6’0 190 lbs rearguard put up 14 points in 27 games with Minnetonka, in the USHS-MN.

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs are excited to announce the signing of 2008 born defenceman, Chase Nadeau for the 2026-27 season.

“Chase was seen at our Minnesota tryout. He had a great season in Minnesota High School Hockey and we’re expecting his growth to continue.” said Head Coach and GM, Joe Martin.

Last season, the 5'10 170 lb playmaking rearguard finished second overall in team scoring with 31 points in 30 games for Andover High of the USHS-MN.

Tuesday adventures… the smiles speak for themselves even if it was early!

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs are pleased to announce the return of 2007 born netminder Derik Brouillard.

After joining the club in January of 2026, the Lorraine, Quebec native posted an impressive 0.913 save percentage, along with a 2.76 goals against average in 14 games. Brouillard suited up for 5 post season contests as well.

“We are excited that Derik is back with us.” said Head Coach and GM Joe Martin.

“He jumped in with us later in the year and really took over that position. Derik was consistent and gave us a chance every night.”

Welcome back to Hockey Valley, Derek!

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs are excited to announce the signing of 2007 Russian born forward, Gleb Semenov for the 2026-27 season.

“Gleb is a very good forward who can play all three positions, and in all situations.” said Head Coach and GM Joe Martin.

Semenov is 6’3, 198 lbs, and joins the Bulldogs after playing for the Shawinigan Cataractes of the QMJHL last season, as well as the Baie-Comeau Drakkar where he earned 19 points in 38 games, including 12 assists.

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs are excited to welcome back 2006 born defenseman Grady Magner, for the 2026-27 campaign.

Last year the East Grand Forks, Minnesota native tallied 27 points in 51 games, including 19 assists.

“I'm excited about Grady’s season, it could be a breakout year for him. He finished very strong and we love his work ethic.” praised Head Coach and GM Joe Martin.

Welcome back to Hockey Valley, Grady Magner!

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs are pleased to welcome back 2007 born forward Leim Smith.

Last season, the Rocky Mountain House native scored 5 goals and added 9 assists in 39 contests.

The 5'10 183 lb forward brings a winning pedigree, earning a CSSHL U-18 Championship with Edge School back in 2023-24.
