The last long weekend of summer in the County usually means good riding, busy farm stands, and one last stretch of summer before fall settles in.

The County Gran Fondo weekend is centred on Saturday’s ride, but it really stretches across the whole weekend. Riders roll into town on Friday for dinner, linger over post-ride lunch on Saturday, gather again that night to celebrate, and ease into Sunday with the Slow Food Ride through wineries, farms, and quiet back roads.

Some people come with a group and ride all weekend. Some bring their partner and make a getaway out of it. Some stay an extra day just to slow down and enjoy the County after the ride is over.

What keeps riders coming back to the Prince Edward County Gran Fondo year after year?

“The scenery is excellent. The route is reasonable in terms of difficulty and the location is perfect for people coming from Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto.” — Bill H.

“Route was great. It was also well marked. The rest stops were awesome. Those are key elements of a ride and they were well done.” — David M.

For us, the best part of the weekend is seeing riders experience the County the way we know it best: quiet roads, good people, and a welcoming cycling community that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

We’re already looking forward to this year’s ride.

How far will you go?

Short and social or long and legendary — there’s a route with your name on it. With three distances to choose from, you can take in as much of The County as you like: rolling vineyards, lake views, and quiet, beautiful roads.

The Corto Fondo
50 km
+130 m

The Gran Fondo
100 km
+450 m

The Elite Fondo
150 km
+535 m

Whichever distance you choose, you’ll find the same thing out there — good people, great roads, and a day in the saddle you won’t forget.

Ever heard of the slow food movement?

It started in Italy and has since grown into a global movement celebrating food that's good, clean, and fair — made locally, rooted in tradition, and meant to be enjoyed, not rushed. At its heart, it's about slowing down, knowing where your food comes from, supporting local farmers and producers, and taking the time to share a good meal in the company of great people.

That’s exactly what our Slow Food Ride is all about — a day of cycling through The County, stopping at local wineries and farms to taste what this place does best.

Save the date, grab your fellow foodies, and come ride with us — September 6, 2026.

If you're planning your riding season, this is a day (or weekend) worth setting aside.

Well-organized routes on quiet roads, with vineyard scenery and distances that suit a range of goals. Whether you're riding for a personal benchmark or simply to enjoy the experience, it's the kind of event riders return to year after year.

Registration moves to the next tier next week. If you've been considering it, this is a good time to secure your place at the current rate.
