The CUFLA league is unique in the sense that NLL players are allowed to play professional and play university sport together. More and more top quality players, including some NLL players, enter the league each year enhancing the competition. While winning is important to every competitive athlete; however we are concerned with the development of the student as a whole, and not solely the lacrosse player. We are committed to fostering a sense of discipline and dedication both on the field and in the classroom. We take satisfaction in seeing our players develop on the field and succeed in their academic pursuits. There has been a great heritage of successful lacrosse players at Carleton. Our Alumni include players who went on to professional lacrosse in the NLL: Jason Tasse (Ottawa Rebel), Shaydon Santos (San Jose Stealth), and Kevin Dostie (Calgary Roughnecks and Buffalo Bandits). The club offers its members a seamless year of lacrosse; an opportunity to play Canada’s official national summer sport from September to April. Our preseason begins with a training camp one week before classes begin. The team practices three evenings per week, with games on weekends. The regular season starts in September and concludes with the Baggataway Cup championship tournament in early November. On Friday nights from December to March, the team hosts a non-contact league for the lacrosse community and Carleton student body in the Carleton Field house.
