Want to try a new sport and meet new friends? 🌈

Join Peterborough GAA and PRIDE OUTSIDE PETERBOROUGH on Wednesday, September 23rd at 7pm for an evening of Gaelic Football!

➡️What is Gaelic Football?
It is an Irish team sport played on a rectangular field. Skills are similar to those developed in soccer, basketball, rugby, volleyball, and other team sports. It’s like soccer with hands plus basketball with feet! The objective is to score by kicking the ball into the other team’s goal (3 points) or kicking the ball over the bar, between the upright posts (1 point).

➡️What can I expect at the event?
This event will be focused on having fun and learning the basic skills of Gaelic football. We will start with a warm up, introduce some of the skills, and then put those skills to use in fun drills/games!

➡️What if I’ve never played before?
That’s okay! No prior skills are necessary and this is a beginner friendly event, open to all skill levels (as are all of our training sessions)!

➡️What should I bring?
Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes (cleats if possible, or sneakers), and bring water.

Please note there is no washroom access at Holy Cross.

This event is 18+ and participants will be required to sign a waiver, which is accessible in our bio.

Congratulations to our athletes who represented Canada at the World GAA this past week in Waterford, Ireland!

On Team 2 we had Michelle (Captain), Ciara, Tash, and Zoe. On Team 1 we had Sarah (Captain) and Tracy (Liaison Officer/Assistant Coach).

As one of the smallest clubs in Canada, having six of our athletes participating in the world games across a variety of roles is an amazing accomplishment which would not have been possible without the commitment and dedication of these individuals, and also the support of each member of Peterborough GAA and our local community.

What a great day for volleyball and an even better cause! The weather held up, the competition was fun, and together we raised $1,010 to help Team Canada 2 compete on the international stage at the GAA World Games in Ireland.
