TNTSF62 G30 G35 Drop-In Turbo | 935HP 08/27/2026

Just wanted to give an update on the True North Turbos TNTSF62 Ball Bearing turbo with a .61ar exhaust housing and the smaller 60x55 turbine wheel. I’ve been running this turbo for a few seasons now. It has been tough as nails. Zero issues with it despite seeing 300*f oil temps and a charge pipe failure at 27psi that I’m sure sent the shaft speed to the moon(didn’t have a speed sensor on it unfortunately). We reconnected the charge pipe and continued to bag on it the rest of the day in 38 degree heat at Area 27. Next we hit the dyno at Alberta Racing Engines and beat on it tuning part throttle and doing WOT pulls at 18psi. Unfortunately we didn’t get to do any big boost pulls as we had a TPS failure end of day one and couldn’t source one same day. The car ended up making 365awhp on the hub dyno at ONLY 18psi! That is by far the most power I’ve made on a 62mm turbo at such low boost. Usually I don’t even bother running them below 22-24psi as they are just lazy. The next day we went to the Time attack at Subaru City Trackfest in Edmonton and ran the car at 18psi and won the event by a couple seconds with a 1:24.93 lap around Rad Torque Raceway. We will get the car back on the dyno and do some high boost pulls. Looking forward to seeing how much power we can make… judging from the 188kph trap speed I was able to run at Knox mountain in 2025 I suspect it will be a lot!

So, turns out I won the Northern Alberta Sports Car Club NASCC Racing and Events time attack title as well…. Didn’t expect that! But, super pumped to add another trophy to the wall.

Thanks so much to Alberta Racing Engines for the tune and support, Chris Doye for saving my ass once again with overnight parts from Armstrong, Greg Mealing for running the pits and chasing the kids around, FirePros Racing for the transponder, JGVNR Rally Team for the support trailer, True North Turbos for supplying the 62mm turbo that takes a beating and just keeps making power, Tim Zimmer for always being willing to talk me through transmission problems 🤪, Brett Haviland for parting with his coveted 4g63 block collection, Josh Rothenburger for keeping me from turning the boost to the moon immediately🤣(we were only running the car at 18psi(360whp) for this lap so next year we will likely run nearly double that! And, the rest of my family and friends for putting up with my utter lack of focus on pretty much anything else when I’m getting the car ready.

First place today at RAD Torque Raceway. The Alberta Racing Engines block and tune was working well after a few issues with an axle seal in the morning.

New PB of 1:24.9 and this was at the absolute least power the car can make. See if we can turn it up tomorrow!

There was a big engine failure in the session before us and the oil dry on the track made for a fun display of the cars aero working.

Sitting in p1 with Josh Rothenburger in p2! Got another session left today and then do it again tomorrow.

Wasn’t without its battles. Drivers side axle seal failed really badly first session out and had to replace that this morning.

Day 2 on the dyno at Alberta Racing Engines!

Got all the part throttle stuff and low boost sorted out yesterday. End of the day we had a throttle position sensor problem that turned out to just be a bad plug. Rewired that and it’s good to go this morning. Just warmed the car up and going to let the tuner loose on turning up the boost.

Ended yesterday with 18psi and 364whp. Very happy with that number at 18 pounds of boost.

Let’s see where we get to today!

Today in “dumb things that happen on the dyno”

Anyone in Edmonton have a TPS sensor for a 2g Dsm?

Thank you!

On the dyno at Alberta Racing Engines! Doing the full meal deal tune. Finding torque in the low load areas and working our way up to WOT tuning…. So far so good! Should drive like a new car.

We will try not to break it!
