For everyone running tubeless tires... is your sealant still doing its job?

Tubeless sealant has two important jobs:

✅ It helps seal the tire to the rim.
✅ It seals punctures while you’re out riding.

The first job usually happens within the first few rides. Once the tire is sealed to the rim, everything seems fine, giving you the impression there’s still plenty of sealant inside.

But over the next 4–6 months, the liquid sealant can dry up, leaving only a thin layer or dried clumps inside the tire. Your tire will still hold air, but if you pick up a thorn or sharp rock on your next ride, there may be nothing left to seal the puncture.

A quick sealant check or top-up only takes a few minutes and can be the difference between riding home and walking home.

🔧 Full Suspension Linkage Bearings: Small Movement, Big Maintenance

Most linkage bearings only move through a very small range of motion over and over again. They don’t rotate 360°, which means the grease inside isn’t constantly being redistributed. Over time, moisture, dirt, and contamination can settle in, while the bearings spend their entire life sitting in the same small section of the race.

That’s why linkage bearings can become rough, creaky, or seized even when they don’t have a ton of mileage on them.

One of the best things you can do during a suspension service is remove the linkage, clean everything thoroughly, inspect the bearings, and physically rotate them through their full range. This helps redistribute grease, identify rough spots early, and prevent expensive repairs down the trail.

A quiet bike is a happy bike. If your full suspension bike is starting to creak, groan, or feel less plush than usual, your linkage bearings might be trying to tell you something.
