Our start times for regular bowling nights for the month of September will now be 6:30pm. Please be there by 6:15pm so we can set up teams. We need to do this to have enough daylight for the games. Also, our last bowling day of the season will be Thursday September 17.

On Thursday we hosted a jitney for the district 3 clubs and we had representation from each of the other 6 clubs in the district. There were 64 attendees in all. The weather was perfect for a meal followed by bowling. We had not hosted a jitney for years, so it was a pleasure to welcome the other clubs to our new clubhouse now that it is finished. A good time was had by all, and we look forward to more jitneys in the future. Thanks to all who attended, it was great to have you!

The Paris Lawn Bowling Club is very pleased to FINALLY be able to invite all of our District 3 friends to our First in a Long Time Jitney on Thursday August 20th.
Cost is $10 per person for the meal and game. Please RSVP to [email protected] no later than August 13th. Registration will begin at 5pm, dinner at 5:30pm.
Our clubhouse is the new Wilkin Family Community Centre in Paris, at 169 Grand River Street North, just opposite the large brick church. Drive to the back of the parking lot and you will see us on the left, tucked out of sight. Signage is not great, but see the attached poster.
Due to construction in town, it is best if you can approach from the north end, but there are detours to get you through from the south end of town as our main street is closed, and one of our two bridges is also closed for construction. Waze or Google maps will help tremendously.
We are looking forward to hosting all of you at our newly renovated facility. If you have any questions, please let us know by email.
We look forward to seeing you on the 20th!

Lawn bowling is cancelled for this evening (Thursday July 16). The air quality index is High due to the forest fire smoke. Environment Canada advises "Reschedule or cancel outdoor sports, activities and events". Hope to see everyone next Tuesday. Stay safe!

Friday July 3 - After the brief early morning thunderstorm, it was a beautiful day to work on the green. We rolled, cut, aerated, weeded and spread some soil and sand in bare areas. The Canada goose who was showing up regularly seems to have moved elsewhere, so that makes for less clean up before we can start working!
There is a good series of training tips on YouTube by Canadian Bowler, recommended by Mary Lou Richards. Here are links to these videos:

We had a good turnout yesterday for our day long training session on the duties of the Vice and Skip. Thank you Mary Lou Richards for sharing your time and expertise with our club and some other participants from District 3. It was a lot to absorb, but we had a great day and learned a lot - from how to correctly measure bowls, a refresher on proper delivery technique, and how to apply various strategies to build a winning head.
Now to put it to practice!
