The NLBA office will be closed from August 24 to September 8 as our staff takes some time to recharge after an awesome and very busy summer!

It has been a fantastic summer of basketball across Newfoundland & Labrador, and we’re grateful to all of our athletes, coaches, families, volunteers, and supporters who helped make it happen. 🏀❤️

🏀 FINAL DAY | RESULTS 🏀

The U15 Girls fought hard until the final buzzer, coming up just short against Nova Scotia, 71–66.

🔥 Lauren Gillis led the way with an impressive 30 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists, while Claire Daley added 23 points and 5 assists. There were also important contributions from every player on the roster, with the entire team stepping up and leaving it all on the floor.

The girls finish the 2026 Canada Basketball National Championships in 6th place overall — an incredibly impressive showing for our province. 🇨🇦

We couldn’t be prouder of the fight, heart and determination this group showed throughout the tournament. They represented Newfoundland & Labrador with everything they had. 🏀

Our U15 Girls are back on the court one last time at the 2026 Canada Basketball National Championships, taking on Nova Scotia in the 5th vs. 6th place game!

What a tournament it has been for this group. Through every win, challenge, comeback, and hard-fought game, these girls have continued to show up, compete, and represent Newfoundland & Labrador with so much pride.

🏀 U17 NATIONALS WRAP-UP 🏀

Our U17 boys team has officially wrapped up their week at the Canada Basketball National Championships!

Throughout the week, this group showed resilience, grit and determination, continuing to battle, learn and grow with every opportunity on the court. There was plenty of learning and development throughout the tournament, and experiences like these will only help them continue to grow as players.

Now it’s time to head home, get some much-deserved rest and recovery, and recharge before turning their attention to their upcoming high school seasons.

Proud of the growth shown throughout the week and excited to see what comes next! 🏀👏

The U15 Girls battled back for a huge 62-56 victory over Manitoba, earning their spot in the 5th/6th place game tomorrow.

The U17 Girls closed out their tournament with a thrilling 69-65 win over PEI. It was a nail-biting finish right down to the final buzzer and the perfect way to wrap up an unforgettable week together.
