The final was a close fought battle, narrowly prevailing 6-4 in the first set, and then 5-7 in the second, against Men’s Doubles champ Kevin Chaves.

WOW! What an end to the Wimbledon at Elmridge Junior Tournament!

Harrison Chand beat Branson Cuenco
7-5 , 5-7 then a tiebreak set 11-9.

Congratulations to both of these young men for an excellent final, and to Harrison for bringing home the championship!

On August 15th, EPT&PC hosted Ottawa Loves Tennis for a wheelchair tennis fundraiser. Participants were able to jump in a chair and try playing the game we love from a completely different lens.

Did you know that a used sport wheelchair can cost over 5000$? High equipment costs such as these create enormous barriers to entry for these athletes. We are happy to report that over 1000$ was raised to help pay for equipment for our wheelchair tennis athletes. The resilience and dedication they show every day is inspiring.

Thank you Ottawa Loves Tennis for bringing this event to Elmridge. What an amazing day.

Tennis has long excluded many due to cost and accessibility. For wheelchair players,
barriers like expensive sport chairs and training make competing even harder.

Join Ottawa Loves Tennis on August 15th at Elmridge Park Tennis & Pickleball Club to try wheelchair tennis, support four Afro-Caribbean athletes, and raise funds for their
training and travel. 80% of proceeds go directly to the athletes, while 20% supports community programs. All abilities welcome!

On Saturday, August 8th, Elmridge hosted our first annual National Pickleball Day Team Tournament!

Over 60 pickleball matches were played throughout the day, leading to victory for Team Purple. Members also enjoyed great prizes, a catered lunch, Selkirk paddle demo table, and a pickleball themed photo booth. It’s great to be a pickleball player at EPT&PC!
