Have a bunch of empties from Canada Day? Don’t throw them out! Come by and drop off your Canada Day cans and bottles this Saturday at the Eagleson Beer store (720 Eagleson Rd Kanata ON)! Our Youth teams will be there collecting bottles all afternoon.

Can’t make it Friday? No worries! Stop by the club Sunday morning, and leave them with our staff.

A special shout out to our club co-founder and Masters Coach/Athlete Bevin Schmidt for winning 🥇 Gold in Mixed K4, and 🥉Bronze in Mixed K2 at this years ICF Masters World Championship in Dartmouth last week.

🎉 What a way to kick off the season for our Comp Development and Special Olympics Comp groups 🎉

Yesterday, 21 of our athletes competed at the Eastern Ontario Division’s Ontario Summer Games Qualifier event. It was an amazing day of racing, getting multiple qualifications, lots of placements on the alternate teams, and overall fantastic racing.

🌅 2026 Summer Solstice Paddle & BBQ — Perfect for the Whole Family! 🌅

Looking for a fun, relaxed way to get the family out on the water? There is no better way to welcome the start of summer than watching the sunset right from the river—complete with a BBQ on the docks!

Join us on Tuesday, June 23rd from 7:00 PM to 9:15 PM for a late evening paddle on one of the longest days of the year. We know it’s not actually the solstice date, but since so many of our members are competing in the Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival that weekend, we are celebrating on Tuesday instead!

This event is open to all club members and brand-new participants. If you've been wanting to try paddling or introduce your kids to the sport, this is the perfect, low-pressure evening to get out on the water together.

🌭 The Food:
We've got an $8.00 BBQ combo available (Burger/Hot Dog, Chips or Cookie, and a drink).

🎟 Registration details:

ORCC Members: Free to register! (Grab the BBQ combo as an add-on).

Non-Members / New Participants: $15.00 (Includes your paddling spot and the BBQ combo!).

Whether you're a regular on the water or bringing the kids out for their very first paddle, everyone is welcome. Secure your spot and reserve your food ahead of time so we can get an accurate headcount.

We have an incredible lineup on and off the water—including a fundraiser BBQ for our Special O Team, a live performance by GleeCeptional, dragon boat trials, and a river safety session with Ottawa Fire Rescue.

A few quick tips before you arrive:

What to wear: Dress for the weather and wear clothing/footwear you don't mind getting a little wet if you want to try out a boat or paddleboard.

Safety first: Lifejackets and all necessary safety gear are completely provided.

Everyone is welcome: Admission is free, and activities are open to all ages and skill levels.

What: Live performance by Gleeceptional

When: Saturday, June 6th at 12:00 PM (Noon)

Where: Right here at the club as part of our Open House (11:00 AM – 4:00 PM) - 1610 Sixth Line Road

Gleeceptional does fantastic work in our community, offering singing and choir opportunities that bring people together. They’ll be performing a song to help us kick off the afternoon, and we’d love to have a great crowd there to support them and enjoy the music.

Come for the performance, check out the boats, and stay to enjoy the rest of the day on the waterfront!

As part of our Open House this Saturday, June 6th, we’re highlighting different ways you can get out on the water. If you've ever been curious about Dragon Boating, this is your chance to give it a shot.

What: Dragon Boat Taster Session

When: Saturday, June 6th at 11:30 AM (The full Open House runs from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM)

Where: 1610 Sixth Line Road

Whether you're looking for a great team sport, a fun way to stay active, or just want to see what it feels like to paddle in sync, this session is open to all ages and skill levels. We provide the gear, and our experienced coaches will be right there to guide you through the basics and keep everyone safe and moving.

Bring some clothes you don’t mind getting a little wet, grab a friend, and come see what our community is all about.

The racing season has officially kicked off with a BANG for some of ORCC’s Sprint paddlers.

This weekend, Ontario Team Trials took place at the Welland International Flatwater Centre, where 12 of our athletes represented the orange and blue with pride, enthusiasm, and grit - as they took on heavy winds, cold temperatures, and tough competition.

Thank you for organizing the event. And thank you to all the staff and volunteers who made it possible!
