The countdown is on! We're excited to introduce the talented dancers who will be taking the stage at our August 29 Hafla.

Our evening will feature a wonderful mix of professional performers, experienced dancers, and rising talent, capped off with a very special performance by our guest artist, Siobhan Camille.

Whether you're a longtime lover of Middle Eastern dance or joining us for your very first hafla, you're in for an evening of beautiful music, artistry, and community.

How to Register for Duniya Studio Bellydance Classes at Shenkman Arts Centre

If you've been trying to sign up for our Bellydance classes at Shenkman Arts Centre and found yourself a little confused, you're not alone!

First, let us say: we're sorry for the confusion. We know the registration process can feel a bit complicated because there are actually two separate systems involved, and both serve different purposes.

Why Are There Two Registrations?

Our Orleans classes are offered through a partnership with the City of Ottawa and the Shenkman Arts Centre. Because of this, the City handles the official registration and payment process.

At the same time, Duniya Studio uses its own student portal to communicate directly with dancers. This allows us to send important class updates, reminders, workshop announcements, recital information, and other resources.

How to Register for Classes at Duniya Studio

Registration Guide Step-By-Step

This step-by-step guide will show you how to sign up for classes using Duniya Studio's Student Portal(powered by Studio Pro). This is how students in our Kanata classses register and pay for their classes. The Orleans students register here for no fee, and then complete payment through the City of Ottawa. Email us if you have any difficulty - we're always happy to help!

Step 1: Visit the Portal

Go to https://app.gostudiopro.com/online/duniyastudio.
You’ll land on the login page.

Step 2: Create Your Account

If you’re new, click “Create Account?” and fill in your details.

Step 3: Log In

Enter your email and password to log in.

Step 4: Navigate to Class Registration

From the top menu, click on “Register” → “Classes”.

Step 5: Select Session & Classes

Choose your desired Session and click the box to Register for the class(es) of your choice.

Registration for our fall Bellydance session is now OPEN! 🎉

Whether you're a seasoned shimmy pro or curious to try something new, fun, and fabulous, now's the time to grab your spot in our amazing dance community.

Please please please don't wait until the last minute to register! If enrollment is too low, we may have to cancel the class, and that would make everyone so so sad: you wanted to join, didn't get around to signing up in time, and now there's no class at all. Let's avoid that together!

Meet Louise

Meet Louise, who just joined the Duniya Studio teaching team in 2025!

Louise's belly dance journey began about 50 years ago. After taking a few classes, she joined the Enan Egyptian Folkloric Troupe as a founding member. The troupe performed at many festivals in Ottawa, as well as at the Egyptian Embassy and in Montreal, Quebec City, and Vancouver. She has very fond memories of those years. For many years, Louise taught Raqs Sharqi through the Ottawa Board of Education, community centers, and dance studios.

After a 20-year break, she returned to teaching in 2023, following a request from her ballroom dance colleagues who wanted to improve their hip movements. Now in her seventies, Louise is still dancing strong! She’s excited to dance with a new group of belly dance fans and can’t wait to shake those coins!.
