Tuesday morning ladies league battling the heat this morning. Great turnout with lemonade and snacks after.

Fourty brave people battled the heat to celebrate Canada Day at the Orillia Lawn Bowling Club. Games were modified. Buckets of frozen water bottles with clothes and spray bottles were on hand. Lots of refreshments and a great barbecue. Lots of good prizes and the top three teams won some cash. Although it was ridiculously hot, we all had a great time. Thank you to our sponsor, Grace Chiropractic. Dr. Tim came and gave a quick talk and we all got to see what our hand strength was!!

Threatening weather didn’t deter any of the dedicated competitors from participating in the fourth annual Orillia Probus Clubs Invitational Lawn Bowling Challenge this past week.
At the end of it all, the Probus Club of Orillia emerged victorious, recapturing the Challenge Cup and the coveted title with a decisive 45 points accumulated over their three teams. Lake Country Probus came next in the standings with a total score of 37, followed by a close race between Mariposa Probus at 28 and Twin Lakes Probus at 26 points.
First-place Probus Club of Orillia teams were skipped by Doug Langman, Michael Kitchen, and Mark Olsen. Second-place Lake Country teams were skipped by Larry Smith, Paul Rollinson, and Brad Ruttle. Mariposa Probus Club teams, collectively capturing third place, were skipped by Marilyn Lane, Sharon Balkwill, and Cathie Sockett. Twin Lakes Probus, rounding out the competition, were represented by teams skipped by Nancy Earle, Jan Herdman, and Craig Walker.
The tournament, hosted every year by the Orillia Lawn Bowling Club, is powered by a great team of Orillia Lawn Bowling Club volunteers, umpiring the games and providing a wonderful lunch for all teams
