Sounds like fun.
This Saturday! We had a music cancellation so we thought why not have a night to honour a legend! We will be playing Dolly all night! Share this post if you love Dolly!
Our main focus is skate sharpening. Hockey, figure and pleasure skating. Been doing it for decades. BUT we are also champions of kids and sport.
We take used and new sports equipment, refurb and sort. Then give it back out to kids to play sport.

Wow, hockey pre season may not be going yet but people getting ready to play are certainly out doing the hunt for equipment. Today was a busy day, over 25 full sets of equipment were given out and numerous other individual pieces for kids that have outgrown stuff from last year. A little baseball and even a lacrosse stick were taken.
WOW!
That’s a busy day!
Love the smiles and all the very polite kids.
Don’t forget to be sure all your kids stuff is ready and fits for this year!

Angus is now ON THE ICE and getting stronger by each practice. He will be again trying out for his local travel team in September! Let’s all cheer him on and wish him the best. After looking at those picture of the accident all we can say is “this kids a fighter” and if he attacks his sports like his recovery we know it will be amazing!

Remember this young man Angus and his ordeal about a year ago? Angus came to Hoopers to fufill a dream to play goal in hockey. We thought we would remind everyone by posting it again before we give you all an update! Stay tuned, we are just downloading the pictures.

The town is having a Scarecrow competition for the fall fair. We were thinking of entering one on Hoopers behalf. But we need a base to start from.
Anyone have a mannequin sitting around not doing any modelling we would be happy to have it to do our display.
If not, well that’s just life.

Wow, we are packed back into the shop and organized much better for the upcoming season of hockey. 🥅
Thanks to the amazing people who showed up to give us a few hours of their time on a Sunday!
Also, thanks so much to the several people who came and took garbage away. Thanks to them we didn’t have to pay for disposal!
Let’s get ready for hockey!!

Well, our Sunday is going to be a busy one.
This is the before.
Let’s start heading towards the after.

Every year we look at the time and effort needed for our equipment exchange. We weigh the work against the outcome. After another trip to a sports store today it just reaffirms the reasons we do it. The costs are not coming down. It can cost a $1000 to just outfit a teenager in decent gear and then pay for house league, let alone if your child wants to play rep hockey.
I saw shoulder pads for $300 and mid level skates at $4-500 which makes us sad because we know this will make playing hockey a difficult reach for parents. So, as usual we will go another year for sure doing our exchange.
We can’t guarantee we will have what your child needs but if we do it’s yours for free. If you have any equipment from your kids that they have outgrown, pass it to us and we will make sure it’s loved by another child for free.
This weekend will be a busy one for us. Every so many weeks we need to clear out, sort and organize when we get a bunch of people and donations. We will be doing this on either Saturday or Sunday, dependant on weather.
If anyone wants to come by and lend a hand, we know we will have stuff to be organized. High schoolers can get community hours helping out as well.
We will also need to do a garbage run on the Monday following this clean. If anyone has a spot we could use to offload some trash that would be VERY helpful.
Have a safe week and make sure you check your kids equipment for fit. The season is coming up fast!

EDIT***board is gone.
We just got in a 160cm snowboard. It’s a 24/Seven model. I really don’t know snowboards but it’s in good shape.
I’m assuming someone can throw the bindings off their present snowboard 🏂 to attach their boots to this one.
We really don’t have the room for ski equipment so I’ll give it a couple days and find a place to move this along if no one wants it from this post.
Thanks for looking
