Jude Dion March 19, 1960 – February 20, 2026
& Lise Nielsen Dion March 12, 1967 – February 20, 2026

It is with profound sadness that the family announces the unexpected passing of Jude Dion and his wife, Lise Nielsen Dion, in February 2026. Jude was born March 19, 1960, to Jean and Rejeanne Dion in Vancouver, B.C. He built his life around his work, his passion for the outdoors, and his longstanding ties to the 100 Mile House community. Jude is survived by his mother, Rejeanne Dion; his children: Terra (Dave) and their son Jacob; Travis (Teri-Lynn) and their daughter Amber-Lynn; and his youngest daughter Andrea (Jeremy). He is also survived by his eldest brother Michele (Merle) and their daughter Michelle; his brother Pierre (Diane) and nephews Trevor and Kevin; and his late sister Susie’s children, Angela, Paul, and Mark, along with extended family and many friends. Lise will also be missed by her family and those who knew her. When Jude was 17, his parents purchased Exeter Sporting Goods in 100 Mile House. In 1992, he took ownership of the business and continued to grow it into a trusted fixture in the community. For decades, he worked to ensure that residents had access to the sporting goods and outdoor equipment they needed without having to travel elsewhere. His knowledge and straightforward manner earned him the respect of customers and fellow outdoorsmen alike. Jude had a lifelong passion for fishing, camping, and hunting. He spent many hours in the backcountry and especially valued time riding up Mica Mountain with his brother Pierre, his nephews Trevor and Kevin, his son Travis, and many others. He was also a steady supporter of local galas, derbies, and community events, contributing to the town he called home. Their sudden passing leaves a space that cannot be filled. They will be remembered by family, friends, customers, and community members whose lives intersected with theirs over the years. In keeping with their wishes, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the BC SPCA.
