The Coach Announcement Week continues! 🎉

We’re excited to welcome Coach Patrick back to the OAK deck as the coach of the new OAK FIT group next season.

Swimming has been part of Patrick’s life since his teenage years, beginning with the Etobicoke Swim Club before continuing through university at York and later as a Masters swimmer during graduate school. The sport helped shape his approach to discipline, goal-setting and pushing through challenging days.

Patrick first joined OAK in 2022, coaching athletes across Acorns, Junior and Senior groups. After stepping away to focus on his career, the pull of coaching never disappeared; and we’re thrilled to have him back.

What Patrick values most is helping young athletes discover the same enjoyment in swimming that shaped his own life. For him, the sport is about more than strokes and times. It teaches athletes how to compete, commit to something bigger than a single race and work patiently toward goals that take determination and grit.

We’re fortunate to have Coach Patrick bringing that perspective back to OAK and leading our OAK FIT group. Go OAK!

We’re excited to announce Coach Alana as OAK’s Mini Oaks 4 Coach for next season.

Alana’s connection to OAK goes back long before she became a coach. She swam with the club for seven years before joining coaching in 2017.

She also studied Business at the University of Guelph, bringing a thoughtful perspective to the deck.

What keeps her passionate about coaching is simple: those moments when something finally clicks. When a swimmer understands a skill, gains confidence and starts to believe in what they can do.

For Alana, there is nothing more rewarding than being part of that journey.

We’re fortunate to have Alana coaching Mini Oaks 4 next season and helping the next generation of OAK swimmers grow in skill and confidence.

Coach Steph brings energy, connection and a strong sense of team to everything she does at OAK.

Next season, Coach Steph will lead Youth Red and Youth White, creating an environment where athletes are challenged, supported and proud to be part of the team.

One of the clearest signs of the culture she has built? Her swimmers even created a special Coach Steph swim cap: a pretty good indication that the bond between coach and team goes both ways.

Whether she is leading a high-energy practice, supporting athletes or simply bringing people together, Steph consistently helps create the sense of belonging and commitment that defines OAK.

We’re fortunate to have Coach Steph leading Youth Red and Youth White the next season and helping build strong swimmers, strong teams and lasting connections.

Congratulations to Coach Jennifer on winning the 3.8 km LOST Race!

Hosted by L.O.S.T. Swimming (Lake Ontario Swim Team), the annual Oakville open-water race covers 3.8 km; the same distance as the swim portion of an Ironman triathlon.

Swimming has always been a major part of Jennifer’s life, and this result is a great reminder that she continues to train, compete and lead by example.

A fantastic achievement and an inspiring one for the next generation of OAK athletes.
