What does an advanced Yoga practice really look like?

It may not be the deepest expression in the room.

For Julie, one of our teachers at INYE, a mature practice is one in which we learn to listen—to recognize that every body comes with its own structure, history, mobility, strengths and limitations.

There is no one-size-fits-all Yoga practice.

Sometimes wisdom means going deeper.

Sometimes it means using a prop.

Sometimes it means choosing a different variation.

And sometimes, even when we can go further, it means consciously choosing not to.

The goal isn’t to make your body look like someone else’s practice.

It is to develop enough awareness to recognize what is right for your body, today.

As Julie so beautifully puts it, the practitioners who impress her most aren’t necessarily those who go deepest into a pose, but those who approach their practice consciously and deliberately.

Perhaps that is what advancement in Yoga really looks like:

Not greater performance, but greater awareness. 🌿

“That’s when things really shifted for me.”

Meet Karen, one of our newest teachers at INYE—and also one of our Yoga Teacher Training graduates.

After years of practicing Yoga on and off, Karen began to discover something different when her practice became more consistent.

Having lived with persistent neck and shoulder discomfort following multiple motor vehicle accidents, she had explored many different ways of finding relief. But Yoga gradually became something more than another modality for her.

It became a practice she could consistently carrying with her.

And when Karen entered our Yoga Teacher Training three years ago, that relationship with Yoga deepened even further.

Today, the student has become the teacher. ❤️

You’ll now find Karen guiding Yoga 101 on Monday evenings, sharing some of the same foundations that became so meaningful in her own journey.

Her closing words say it beautifully:

Keep practicing. Keep showing up.

Sometimes we don’t know where the practice will take us. We simply have to begin.

🌿 Our next 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training begins September 26th.

Sometimes our practice takes the form of movement.
Sometimes meditation.
And sometimes… music. 🎶

At INYE, music has always been another way for us to come together.

Our little INYE band gathers for Wellness Events, celebrations and special workshops—not because we are trying to put on a perfect performance, but simply to share the joy of creating something together.

Here we are playing 望春風 (Watch Spring Wind), a beloved Taiwanese folk song.

There is something beautiful about music played among friends, share the vibration together.

May this bring some joy to your day. 🌿🎶

What does “Hatha” really mean? ☀️🌙

Yoga is so much more than the shape of an asana.

Here, our Yoga Teacher Training philosophy and meditation teacher, Hali Schwartz, moves through Surya Kriya while exploring the subtle meaning within Hatha Yoga.

Ha — the solar quality, associated with Pingala
Tha — the lunar quality, associated with Ida

Two seemingly opposing energies, continually weaving through our experience.

Active and receptive - Strength and softness - Movement and stillness.

The practice of Hatha Yoga gives us an opportunity to explore these qualities—not simply as ideas to understand intellectually, but as something we can experience through the body, breath and awareness.

This is one of the things we love about our Teacher Training: an asana is never just an asana.

There is philosophy behind the movement.
There is awareness behind the breath.
And there are deeper dimension of Union waiting to be explored.

🌿 INYE 200-Hour Yoga Teacher TrainingBegins September 26, 2026

Come deepen your practice—not simply to learn more Yoga, but to experience it.

🚗 Reflection – The Drive Home

Pain and suffering are not always the same thing.

Pain may arise in the body. Difficult emotions may arise in the mind. But how closely do we wear these experiences as who we are?

Sometimes we wear our body and mind too tight—we can no longer tell where one ends and the other begins.

Yoga invites us to create just a little space.

Not to deny what we feel. Not to run away from discomfort. But to observe:

There is pain. There is anger. There is fear. But is that the entirety of who I am?

Perhaps when there is a little space between our experience and our identity, we discover something underneath it all:

Life itself.

Today’s reflection from the drive home. 🚗🌿

Meet Nav

What if our Yoga practice wasn’t about getting back to the body we once had—but learning to appreciate the body we have today?

For Nav, practice comes with lightheartedness, laughter, and a little less pressure to be something we’re not.

Many of us arrive on the mat carrying aches, tension, or memories of a time when we were stronger or more flexible. But Yoga gives us an opportunity to meet ourselves exactly where we are—and to begin from there with a little more kindness.

Whether through the gentle movement of his Monday Gentle Yoga class or the quiet stillness of Tuesday Yin Yoga, Nav’s hope is simple:

To help you leave feeling a little lighter, a little freer, and a little more at home in your own body.

🌿 Gentle Yoga — Mondays at 1:30 PM
🌙 Yin Yoga — Tuesdays at 8:30 PM

Come practice with Nav at INYE.

“I didn’t think I would become a Yoga teacher.”
When Jade first joined our Yoga Teacher Training, her intention wasn’t to teach.

She wanted to deepen her own practice, explore the spiritual dimension of Yoga, and become healthier as she prepared for the next chapter of her life.

What she discovered was so much more.

A deeper understanding of Yoga beyond the physical practice.

A supportive community that celebrated her pregnancy and thoughtfully adapted every practice to help her feel safe and cared for.

And, perhaps most unexpectedly... the confidence to say,
“Maybe I’m ready to become a teacher.”

Stories like Jade’s remind us that Yoga Teacher Training isn’t only about learning how to teach.

It’s about learning how to live with greater awareness, confidence, and connection.

Every student begins with a different reason for joining.
No two journeys are the same, yet each one leaves transformed.

🌿 Our next 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training begins this September.

If you’ve been feeling called to explore Yoga more deeply—whether for yourself or to one day teach—this may be the right time.

✨ Early Bird tuition is available until August 13.
We’d love to walk this journey with you.

Sometimes the most meaningful days aren’t the busiest ones.

They are the days when we slow down enough to hear the wind through the lavender, share a meal with new friends, move our bodies with awareness, and simply remember what it feels like to be present.

Our Lavender Farm Retreat wasn’t about escaping life.

It was about returning to it—with a little more clarity, gratitude, and ease.

To everyone who joined us, thank you for bringing your presence, your laughter, and your open hearts. It was a beautiful reminder that healing often happens in the simplest moments: a shared practice, a nourishing meal, music, nature, and genuine human connection.

Here’s a glimpse of a day we’ll remember for a long time. 💜

One of the beautiful aspects of Yoga is that it gradually expands our sense of “me.”
What begins as caring for our own body and mind slowly becomes caring for those around us, and eventually, for all living beings.
This mantra has always been a gentle reminder of that.
Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu.

May all beings everywhere be joyful and free.

May our practice become an offering, not only for ourselves, but for the well-being of all life.

Aum Shanti, Shanti, Shanti. 🙏

Sometimes life asks more of us than we feel ready to give.
If that’s where you find yourself today...

may these words offer you a small moment of peace.
No matter how difficult today has been, remember that difficult moments are not permanent.

You’re not walking alone.
