If you missed our last matchup, you missed a great one! It was a back-and-forth battle from start to finish, with both teams leaving it all on the floor. The game ended in a tie, so you know tomorrow’s rematch is going to be another exciting one.

Congratulations Lyle

Lyle Thompson is set to receive one of Indian Country’s major honors for a career that has changed how many people see lacrosse.

Thompson, a citizen of the Onondaga Nation and a member of the Hawk Clan, will be inducted into the National Native American Hall of Fame as part of its 2026 class. The recognition honors his impact as one of the most accomplished lacrosse players of his generation and as a public representative of the Indigenous roots of the game.

At the University at Albany, Thompson became the first men’s player to win the Tewaaraton Award in back-to-back seasons, earning the honor in 2014 and 2015. Alongside his brother Miles Thompson, he was also among the first Native American players to receive the sport’s highest individual award.

His professional career has included MVP honors in both field and box lacrosse, with performances that helped set new standards at the highest levels of the sport.

For the Haudenosaunee, lacrosse is known as The Creator’s Game. It carries deep cultural meaning connected to healing, gratitude, and community. Thompson has often used his platform to teach about those origins while representing the Onondaga Nation in arenas around the world.

Off the field, he and his brothers co-founded the 4 The Future Foundation, which supports Indigenous and underserved youth through sports, education, and leadership opportunities.

The National Native American Hall of Fame will formally honor Thompson on November 21, 2026, at the OKANA Resort & Hotel in Oklahoma City.
