We are back on home ice this friday as we welcome the Truro Junior 'A' Bearcats to the Pictou County Wellness Centre for our first pre season game

7 pm puck drop, Tickets are $5

Today we mourn the loss of a longtime PCWC employee and friend, Scott Cooke.

Scott started at PCWC about six months after our doors opened. Before his 13 years here, he spent 20 years at the John Brother MacDonald Stadium. The rink was home for Scott; for so many of our facility users, Scott was simply part of the rink.

He was well known for being friendly and welcoming, soft-spoken and kind. He remembered names and cheered for the kids he watched grow up over the years. He passionately supported the Crushers - he loved working the games and watching them play, and he did so for 20 years straight

Scott was a wealth of knowledge and a mentor to many over the years. His quiet presence, kindness and dedication to the rink community will be deeply missed.

Our thoughts are with his daughter and with all those who loved Scott as much as we did.

Rest in peace, Scotty, you will truly be missed🩵

RibFest might happen over three days, but for these incredible volunteers, it is so much more than one weekend.

It is a full year of planning. Countless meetings. Late nights. Early mornings. Travelling across Nova Scotia. Setting up, tearing down, problem solving, organizing, and putting in countless volunteer hours to make Pictou County RibFest happen.

They do it because they love this community. ❤️

And the best part? The funds raised through RibFest go right back into supporting local initiatives here in our community.

So as another RibFest comes to a close, we want to give the biggest THANK YOU to the Kinsmen Club of New Glasgow and every member who helped make this weekend possible.
