🏹 Archer Highlight! 🏹

Six years ago, Phoenix Smuga saw Greg loading his bow into his truck and asked if he could join a practice. He’s shown up nearly every week since. Greg has coached and mentored him along the way, helping him develop not only his skills, but also his focus, discipline, and mindset.
Last month, Phoenix represented the Nelson Gun and Rod Club and Region 1 Kootenays at the BC Winter Games in U15 Barebow—no sights, no stabilizers, just skill, focus, and consistency.
Over two days, he shot 120 arrows from 18 metres at a 40cm target and scored 934/1200, breaking the U15, U18, and U21 provincial indoor records and earning gold in the 18m rounds 🥇
He then advanced to Match Play with the other top three athletes, where the first to six points wins, and took a second gold in an exciting final 🥇
A great result and a reflection of years of dedication. Congratulations Phoenix!
