One of the best parts of summer camp isn’t just the horses—it’s the kids. ❤️🐴
There’s something special about being out on the trails, away from screens and distractions. The kids talk, laugh, share stories, ask questions, and simply enjoy the moment.
Those rides become about so much more than learning to ride—they’re about connection, confidence, and making memories.
I’m so grateful for every child who spends part of their summer at the barn. Watching them grow, smile, and connect with our horses is something I’ll never take for granted. ❤️

Meet Chief – the horse who inspired Rocking Horse Stables.
Every business has a beginning. Ours has four legs.
Chief's story began in Alberta, where he was headed for the slaughter pipeline. Thankfully, he was rescued and brought to Second Chance Cheekye Ranch in Squamish.
The day Chief arrived, I met him for the very first time.
He was underweight, immune compromised, anxious, and understandably unsure of the world around him. But beneath all of that was the gentlest giant I had ever met.
From the moment we met, I had the overwhelming feeling we were meant to find each other.
Chief became part of our family.
He helped my children build confidence, one quiet moment at a time. He became my best friend, my confidant, and a calming presence through some of life's most challenging seasons.
Today, he is the horse I trust with my most precious cargo—the children who visit Rocking Horse Stables.
His quiet patience has introduced countless people to horses, often replacing fear with confidence and uncertainty with joy.
People often ask how Rocking Horse Stables began.
The answer is simple.
It began with one rescued horse who taught us that healing, trust, and second chances can change lives.
Every horse has a story.
Chief's story became ours.
If you've had the privilege of meeting Chief, we'd love to hear what makes him special to you. Share your favourite Chief memory in the comments below. 🐴

🎉 Happy 16th Birthday, Meyja! 🐴❤️
Kind, loving, and never afraid to share her opinion, Meyja has been a cherished part of her family for 16 wonderful years. She's one of the lucky few horses who has spent her entire life with the same owner, creating a bond that is truly special.
She's more than just a horse—she's family.
Happy Birthday, sweet girl! We love you. ❤️🎂
