🏆⛳ Club Championship Weekend – A Few Things to Know

It’s one of the biggest weekends of the year at Nanaimo Golf Club! Our 2026 Club Championship takes place this Saturday and Sunday, and the club and course will be very busy throughout the weekend.

With championship groups starting from both the 1st and 10th tees during the morning and afternoon, members and visitors should expect increased activity around the course, clubhouse and parking areas. Thank you in advance for your patience as we accommodate our competitors and championship operations.

🍽️ Food & Beverage – Saturday & Sunday

Mike’s Place: Open 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Restaurant: Open 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM

Please note that the regular menu will not be available after 4:00 PM on Saturday or Sunday. After 4:00 PM, service is reserved for Club Championship participants and their guests.

On Sunday, the Lower Lounge Patio will also close at 5:00 PM while our team prepares the buffet stations for the Championship Banquet. The Lower Lounge interior, AV Macan Banquet Hall and remaining patio areas will remain available at that time.

⛳️ Range Closures

The range will be available to Club Championship participants only from 6:30 am to 9:30 am and 11 am to 2:30 pm.

Open to Members & Guests from 9:30 am to 11 am and from 2:30 pm onward.

🏌️ Championship Play

Players will be competing across several divisions throughout both days, with BCPGA referees on course and championship blue flags in play. Please be mindful of competitors and the increased tournament activity if you are around the club.

💜⛳ $8,660 Raised for the ALS Society of BC!

We are incredibly proud to share that through this year's Golfathon for ALS and Swing Against ALS Raffle, Nanaimo Golf Club raised an amazing $8,660 for the ALS Society of BC!

This was truly a club-wide effort. A huge thank you to everyone who purchased raffle tickets, made a donation, supported our Golfathon participants (our Pros), donated prizes, volunteered, or helped spread the word. Every contribution helped us reach this fantastic total.

A special thank you to Peter Moretti and Lisa Henderson for coordinating the fundraising efforts, and another big thank you to Peter for sourcing and contributing such an incredible collection of raffle prizes that helped make the campaign such a success.

👋 Meet the Team: Sous Chef Nigel

If you've enjoyed a great meal at Nanaimo Golf Club, chances are you've tasted the work of Sous Chef Nigel.

Nigel joined the NGC culinary team in 2017 and brings a wealth of experience from kitchens around the world. Whether he's preparing fresh seafood or crafting classic Italian dishes, his passion for quality ingredients and attention to detail shine through in every plate. His favourite item on the Nanaimo Golf Club menu? Our Crème Brûlée—a dessert he never gets tired of creating.

Outside the kitchen, Nigel is just as hands-on with his hobbies. He enjoys playing drums and guitar, and even practices the intricate art of watchmaking.

According to the management team, Nigel is the kind of person who makes every shift more enjoyable. His great sense of humour, endless stories, and ability to make people laugh create a positive atmosphere in the kitchen. Combined with his exceptional culinary skills, organization, and professionalism, Nigel is an invaluable part of the Nanaimo Golf Club team.

⛳️ This Sunday, Our Pros Play for a Purpose.

This Sunday, the PGA of BC Golfathon for ALS returns to Nanaimo Golf Club as Chris Wilson, Dave Kuss, Ryner Wilson, and Aidan Goodfellow take on the challenge of playing from sunrise to sunset to raise funds and awareness for the ALS Society of BC.

Every dollar raised helps provide vital programs, equipment, and support for individuals and families living with ALS in British Columbia and the Yukon. Since its inception, the Golfathon has raised more than $3 million for this important cause.
