2026 Baseball Canada 18U Nationals Bronze Medal 🥉

We are pleased to announced that 2027 grad second baseman Brodie Woywitka won the 18U National Championship Top Defensive Player for the tournament. Brodie was terrific all weekend, with 14 putouts and 11 assists, converting on 25 of his 26 chances on defence. Brodie also made some spectacular diving plays among those. Congrats to Brodie!

Hello, Mariners fans,

Over this past weekend in Penticton, our players won the 18U Provincial Championship and are now heading to Fort McMurray to represent not only Vancouver Island, but also British Columbia, in the 18U National Championship from August 12-16th.

The VI Mariners 18U College Prep Baseball team has earned the incredible honour of representing British Columbia at the National Championships. After months of early mornings, long road trips, countless practices, and an unforgettable Provincial Championship win, these young athletes have earned their place on the national stage.

Now comes the hardest part.

Nationals are being held out of province, and the cost of getting an entire team there is significant. Flights, accommodations, transportation and incidentals are quickly adding up, creating a financial burden for many families.

We’re reaching out to our local community because we know this community has always believed in supporting its young athletes.

These boys represent more than just a baseball team. They represent dedication, perseverance, sportsmanship, and the values our community helps instill in them. Many of them are preparing to leave for college in the coming weeks as well, making this their final opportunity to compete together wearing the Mariners jersey.

We’re asking local businesses, organizations, and community members to help make this once-in-a-lifetime experience possible.

No donation is too small. Whether it’s a personal donation or a corporate sponsorship, every contribution helps bring these athletes one step closer to representing not only our community, but the province of BC on the national stage.

We defeated the North Shore Lions in the finals 3-2, on a walk-off single by Xzander Hope, with Brodie Woywitka scoring the winning run. The Mariners are now headed to the Baseball Canada National Championships in Fort McMurray from August 13-16. Let’s go Mariners!
