Congratulations to everyone in the Country Cycle community for finishing the Glacial Gravel Grind this past Saturday.
There is no community like the Manitoba cycling community.

After a 100 km ride yesterday, I wasn’t sure how the legs would feel today. It took about a quarter of the ride before they started to find some strength again.
This video is from a segment at the Schinken Wald trails near Thornhill, just west of Morden, called “Pete Missed This for a Hike.”
Apparently, Russell Thiessen named it after I bailed on a ride with him and Cole to go for a hike instead 🤷🏼♂️
With 1,000 metres of climbing, stunning prairie views, and the best company anyone could ask for, the Glacial Gravel Grind has earned its place as one of the great events on Manitoba’s cycling calendar.

Prairie Fire Racing
PFR is a community of riders who believe in showing up, doing hard things, pursuing excellence, encouraging one another, racing with integrity, and leaving the excuses at home.
Our riders strive to be role models for the next generation of cyclists through Kids of Mud, our Indigenous youth cycling program, and the broader cycling community.
The name Prairie Fire Racing was inspired by brothers Bob and Terry Friesen, who led a cycling club out of Killarney under the same name throughout the 1990s and early 2000s. Following the shop fire in 2016—what we now call The Great Fire—we adopted the name as a symbol of resilience, renewal, and moving forward.
