Moosospin Studio is a cozy, five-bike indoor cycling space in Moosomin, SK, where the lights are low, the music is loud, and everyone rides at their own pace.

Our classes focus on fun, stress relief, and building confidence—not perfection.

A huge appreciation post for Marian Deresh, who is helping bring the new outdoor yoga space at 808 Main to life!

When we bought the house, this area was a fully fenced above-ground pool that needed TLC. The liner quote was over $5K before tax, and because the pool was a unique 16x26 size, replacement was over $18K.

Needless to say, the pool had lived its life.

Marian and his buds helped tear it out, recycle what we could, and clear the space. Then it sat empty while we debated what it could become. We kept the fencing because the dogs can’t get into that area — which turned out to be a blessing.

On April 15, I pitched turning it into an outdoor space for yoga and maybe even light art programming. I researched grass options, landed on sod, rented a truck, borrowed a trailer, and headed to Brandon. Not without drama, of course. Somewhere near Virden, the trailer came off the hitch. Thankfully, the chains saved the day, and a kind long-haul driver helped me get it back on properly. Once in Brandon, the sod didn’t quite fit, so I left a few pieces behind and trusted my measurements.

On May 29, Marian and I unloaded everything, and he laid the sod expertly.

Since then, the space has slowly become something special. The old blue shade fabric came down, thrifted fabrics inspired a boho backdrop, a sun shade was purchased, and Marian painted areas for folk-art-style stenciling and free-handing. He also cut extension poles so we could hang lights even higher.

There is still work to do: more painting, dirt and flowers for the planters, and the boho fringe barrier. And because Saturday is calling for thunderstorms, we’ve moved programming to the Visual Arts Centre for now.

This space is coming together because of help, encouragement, problem-solving, and muscle — and Marian has been such a big part of that.

Thank you, Marian, for helping turn a forgotten pool space into something with new life, new purpose, and so much possibility.

It’s not done yet, but it already feels pretty special.

Come to the Moosomin Visual Arts Centre on Saturday for free programming. I’ll have the second fringe barrier ready for the ol’ “many hands make light work” experience!

Know Before You Go - Yoga Edition!

✨ Fresh updates are here at Moosospin Studio ✨

First up: the Mini Spin Sampler is staying.

We heard from a few riders that a 25-minute ride feels WAY less intimidating than jumping straight into a 45-minute class. The whole point of Moosospin is to make dark indoor cycling feel more welcoming, not more intimidating so, we’re keeping the Mini Sampler ride on the schedule!

Next up: Deep Stretch & Dark Chocolate.

This is not a yoga class — just a slow, cozy deep-stretch session you’re invited to join. I’ll guide you through the deep stretching routine I use when I can’t make it to one of Carlie Glasser's or Clarissa's amazing classes. Expect gentle, intentional deep stretches, cozy infrared heat for cold souls/soles, and a relaxed atmosphere designed to help you unwind.

Now for The Replay.

From April 13 to May 9, we had:

• 27 days tracked
• 29 classes
• 116 bookable seats
• 37 unique riders
• 17 new riders
• 19 repeat riders
• 29 unbooked seats
• 1 last-minute opening
• 2 instructors
• 6 playlists
• 10 riders on the waitlist
• 12 protein shake flavours
• 3 yoga nights
• 16 yoga students

And since opening…

59.12% of riders have joined us for 4 rides or more!

That is one of my favourite stats so far, because it tells me people are not just trying Moosospin once — they’re finding their way back.

And finally: June 27.

Save the Date: Moosospin Summer Grand Opening Party
We’ve got some funnnnn stuff in the works.

So far, we’re planning:

• tattoo pop-up Everything Bagel Tattoos
• walk-in Botox (Dr. Woodside)
• pop-up pop shop Trends Mercantile
• sketch artist JNDS Art by Nicole
• yoga Carlie Glasser
• snacks, food, music, and party things

We’re still working on the full schedule, so follow the event page for updates as the details come together.

Rain or shine, we’ll make it happen.

Shine: 808 Main Street
Moosospin indoors + our new outdoor yoga space (coming soon)
Rain: MVAC Creation Space

Thank you for continuing to show up, cheer us on, try new things, bring friends, ask questions, and trust this tiny dark cycling room with your time and energy.

Looking forward to seeing you — or not seeing you, because dark cycling — at the studio.

Holiday Monday is looking like a high of 9°C… so we’ve got the perfect little indoor outing for you.

Enter: Mini Spin Sampler 🚲

A 25-minute beginner-friendly intro ride to help you get a feel for Moosospin, the bikes, the music, the lights, and the overall class experience.

Not ready for a full 45-minute class yet? Curious about music theme rides but not totally sure what that means?

This one is for you!

You’ll get a warm-up, a short cool-down, and a taste of Moosospin’s themes and ride styles so you can see what feels good for you.

No pressure.
No experience needed.
Just a quick, fun way to try the studio.

After class, stick around, ask questions, and enjoy a smoothie/protein shake while you get familiar with the space.

Perfect for first-time riders, nervous beginners, or anyone who wants a quick taste before jumping into a full class.

✨ Fresh updates are here at Moosospin Studio ✨

First up: hello, recumbent.

I picked up a used recumbent bike to help make Moosospin more accessible for more bodies, more comfort levels, and more stages of movement.

A recumbent bike can be a great option for anyone who may benefit from:

• a reclining seat • more back support • a step-through design
• less joint strain • a lower-impact ride • more stability while moving

This may be helpful for riders dealing with chronic back pain, limited mobility, balance concerns, or those easing back into movement after knee or hip surgery.

I just need to pick up some foot straps in the city this week, and then you’ll be able to book the recumbent bike for Wednesday night and beyond!

After tracking and monitoring rides like Moosospin Signature Ride, Boys vs. Girls, Rolling Hills, and my newest theme ride, *I’m a Belieber*, I’ve been able to start mapping out heart-rate patterns and better understand what each class offers in terms of intensity, training zones, and overall workout design.

Hello, V&E 45.

V&E 45 stands for Vigorous & Efficient 45.

This class is designed to keep you working in a vigorous training zone for most of the ride, with steady climbs, controlled intervals, and just enough recovery to keep you moving strong.

Based on Canadian Physical Activity Guidelines, most adults should aim for moderate to vigorous aerobic physical activity that adds up to at least 150 minutes per week.

V&E 45 delivers approximately 30 minutes of vigorous activity in one session.

That means:

• 1 class gives you a strong portion of your weekly target
• the ride works hard without pushing into an all-out peak zone
• the structure is efficient, repeatable, and strong

I plan on using this ride structure and pairing it with different theme ideas like *I’m a Belieber* and *Oldies vs. Millennials.*

That means even as riders become familiar with the format, the music and theme will keep changing — so you can build confidence in the structure while still getting a fresh ride each time.

One thing you will come to learn about me: I love stats and tracking.

I’ll be tracking Moosospin month to month using the same number of days each time, so the numbers and comparisons actually mean something.

For this 27-day Replay period, we had:

• 27 classes
• 108 bookable seats
• 50 unique riders
• 20 repeat riders
• 9 riders on the waitlist
• 0 overbook errors
• 3 playlists
• 2 instructors

In other stat-tracking news: my Road to 200 Riders is now 52.5% complete, but our road to the alphabet is even closer.
We only need riders whose names start with F, I, P, Q, W, X, Y, and Z to try us out.
Tag your people, people.

Protein shake update:

The two most popular flavours so far have been:

• Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup
• Cake Pop

It’s important to me to not sell protein powder, despite many offers to do so.

Instead, I want to bring new flavours into the studio so you can try different things without having to commit to buying a whole container before sampling consistently.

So far, we’ve featured:

• PEScience Select Protein — Supplement King
• FeelFit Pea Protein — Arbonne (Ashley Johnston is the rep I’m aware of here)
• Oath Nutrition Clear Protein, Frosty Lemonade — Costco
• Marine Collagen — Costco
• C4 Whey Protein Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup — Costco

I’m also looking at bringing in a few more options next, including Isagenix, (which Tamela Olafson and Anytime Fitness Moosomin will be hooking us up with) and ALT Beef Protein, likely from Supplement World. (any local reps? Eh? Eh?)

So, there will be more shake experiments coming soon.

Tour de Fitness update

Some of you are doing the challenge without even knowing you’re doing the challenge. We haven’t had a lot of people officially sign up, even though I know for a fact some riders are already more than halfway done the challenge.

To complete the Tour de Fitness, all you need to do is finish all 6 sessions across spin, strength, and yoga, get your punch card stamped along the way, and finish the challenge to qualify for prizes.

If you would like a stamp card, please DM me or comment below and I’ll get you one so you can enter the epic prize pack.

---

Some new news is coming very soon relating to:

• new instructors • new playlists
• our grand opening party plan • pop-up yoga schedule

---

Thank you for all your support, encouragement, and enthusiasm.

Looking forward to seeing you — or not seeing you, because dark cycling — at the studio!
