Ok folks it’s been a very long time…
Clearly, our rebuild is no longer a rebuild as we are now a contender officially with additional talent in the pipeline.
Suzuki 1C - 100+ points last year and a Selke trophy . Clearly one of the top 10 centres in the league.
Caufield- 50+ goals last year and a lady byng winner with a 200 foot game that is above average with a +29 on the season.
Slafkovsky- 1st overall pick and power forward that has finally arrived into the nhl with 73 points last season(30 goals)
Hutson - defensive phenom and a total go between a Makar and Quinn Hughes. Huge part of our offence and a future Norris trophy candidate and probably winner.
Demidov - a steel at fifth overall. A superstar in the making. With 62 points in his rookie season, sky is the limit for him and a point per game+ is a very reasonable goal
Dobes and Kappanen - out of nowhere and into the rookie of the year candidates along with Demidov…..With Fowler up and coming and one of the top goalie prospects in the NHL , goaltending will not be an issue
Reinbacher - 5th overall peak, which should balance out the top four with one more year in Laval and the games necessary for him to pick up the experience. Could become the ideal partner for Lane Hutson.
Hage and Zharovsky - graded as A prospects in the NHL.
Combine these two with Slavkovsky and promote Demidov TO The top line or simply keep Ivan with Hage and Zharovsky and it will have the makings of a top second line in the NHL
Round out your offence with players like Newhook, Bolduc, Dach, Evans, F. XHekaj, Beck and Pugachev and the mix of talent, speed and Size is amazing……
Fans, several of you that I have spoken to have mentioned that this is the greatest team the Canadians have iced in their lifetime that they can remember. In my 50s and would have to agree with them.
There are a few Stanley cups along the way if we as Fans can remain patient. Our management seems to understand this concept and this building it right.
Finally with MSL as our coach, I do not see many weaknesses with this team..
