From the very beginning, Kru Dave has been a cornerstone of the KOMBAT ARTS family — and his contributions to this gym and to the art of Muay Thai speak for themselves.
As our Muay Thai Adult Fighters coach, he brings passion, and heart to every session. But his passion goes beyond coaching. Kru Dave took it upon himself to launch Muay Thai Appreciation Day and organized a world-class seminar featuring Kru Mehdi, 3X Muay Thai World Champion — because that's the kind of person he is.
That's what KOMBAT is all about — people who love the art and give back to the community.

Why can’t you transfer your skills to the ring or for self‑defense?
In my 25‑plus years of training students in combat sports, self‑defense, and some law enforcement/security (I’m not an agency trainer), students know a lot… but they cannot transfer those skills to the ring or street.
Why?
They have crappy fundamentals. They know a lot of cool stuff, but their fundamentals are lacking.
Those techniques are not automatic. If you have to think about how to do something, then that technique does not belong to you.
You have not pressure tested it. You don’t know when and why you would use these techniques. You haven’t tried to apply them against a resisting opponent. You haven’t seen what works for you—and under what specific conditions.
🔥 What a Seminar at KOMBAT ARTS! 🔥
We had the absolute honor of hosting 3-time World Muay Thai Champion, Kru Mehdi, for a seminar that leveled up everyone on the mats. The precision, power, and mindset he brought was exactly what we needed to push forward.
Massive respect to Kru David for making this happen. 👏
And to every student and school that showed up to support: THANK YOU. The energy in the room was electric. This is what Muay Thai is all about—community, respect, and growth.
