The final drill in our 3-part treadmill series at Full Stride.

The slow and go extended takes everything from Part 2 and adds volume. The athlete drops back slowly and drives back up multiple times in a row before grabbing the bar. By the last rep the legs are working hard and the stride still has to stay technically clean.

That combination of fatigue and technique is what builds the kind of skating that holds up late in a period when it matters most.
If you missed Parts 1 and 2, scroll back through our page this week.

Drill series Part 2 of 3 at Full Stride.

The slow and go. The athlete begins at the top of the treadmill, lets the belt slowly pull them back in a controlled descent, then drives back up to the bar as hard as they can.

The controlled drop is what separates this from a standard sprint drill. It forces composure before the explosion, which is exactly what a player needs when they lose a step and have to reaccelerate in a game.

Part 3 coming next.

We're breaking down a 3-part treadmill drill series this week, starting with the sit and go.

The athlete begins in a seated position at the back of the treadmill on their skates, then drives up the incline to the bar with hard, straight strides. The goal is pure power generation from a dead stop, with no momentum to lean on.

It sounds straightforward. It's harder than it looks, and that's the point.

Stay tuned for Parts 2 and 3 this week.

We put a hockey parent on the skating treadmill, and this is what happened.

Even skaters with years of experience feel the difference right away. That's because the treadmill isn't about conditioning, it's about stride mechanics. And the moment you're on it, every small inefficiency in your skating becomes visible.

If you've ever wondered what your athlete actually does in a Full Stride session, this video says it better than we ever could.

Behind every athlete who improves at Full Stride is a coaching staff that genuinely cares.

They push hard, hold high standards, and build the right habits from day one. But they also make sure athletes actually enjoy the process, because that's what keeps them coming back and putting in the work.

Grateful to have this group in the building every day.
