Handmade in Canada from premium cherry or ash, Wilderness Paddle Works paddles are lightweight tripping paddles built for comfort, control, and performance on the water.
They offer an ideal balance of strength and flexibility, with a slightly oval shaft that provides a secure, ergonomic grip and helps reduce fatigue over long days of paddling. The shaft shape also allows you to feel the blade orientation without looking, while the broad grip offers added control for precise strokes.
Available in two blade shapes, the Beaver Tail is designed wider to move more water and deliver strong, powerful strokes, while the Otter Tail, with it's more slender shape is well suited to longer trips where efficiency, a smooth cadence, and sustained comfort matter most.

New Product Alert - Agawa Carbon Trail with Chain Mail Scrubber and Optional Nitride Coating
Camp cooking just got even better.
Agawa’s Carbontrail 12 cookset is built for serious outdoor cooking. There was little room for improvement, however, the addition of their new chain mail scrubber and nitride coating option is just that. Nitration is a a thermochemical surface-hardening heat treatment providing a more corrosion resistant surface (and generally requires less maintenance and re-seasoning). The scrubber is designed to make cleanup quick and efficient, it helps keep your carbon or nitride steel cookware maintained and ready for the next meal, even deep in the backcountry.

June is National Indigenous History Month in Canada: a time to learn, listen, and honour the cultures, knowledge, and histories of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. Indigenous histories, knowledge systems, languages, cultures, and contributions are foundational to the lands now known as Canada, yet they are too often overlooked or undervalued. Spending time learning about Indigenous histories, philosophies, values, and many, many important contributions to wider Canadian society is not only fascinating and engaging, but also part of the path of Reconciliation.
For those of us who spend time outdoors, this month is also a reminder that the land we travel on and through are subject to treaty agreements, and as such, deserve the utmost respect and care, as they are also the repository of deep histories that inform and shape the ongoing relationships between Canada and the peoples who call these lands home.
