Most GTA pools close between mid-September and mid-October. The closing window is short - pool companies fill their schedules within a few weeks.

Booking in August means choosing your date.

Waiting until September means taking whatever is left. Before closing, it is worth balancing water chemistry one final time, checking all equipment, and confirming the cover is in good shape.

A balanced pool over winter is a pool that opens cleanly in spring.

New pool builds for spring 2027 follow a timeline that starts in the fall.

Permit applications, design approvals, and contractor scheduling all have lead times that get shorter as the season progresses.

Homeowners who have been thinking about a new pool or a major backyard renovation are in the right window to act now. September and October fill quickly.

That is from Anna W. Her project was especially complex - the water table level on her property made it one of the more technically challenging builds the team has handled.

What she noticed was the communication and the crew leaving the garden clean. That combination - technical capability and basic professionalism - is what we aim for every time.

Your pool has been running hard since May. Before the season ends, it is worth taking a closer look.

Water that stays hazy after treatment, a filter pressure gauge that has crept up, liner wear along the seams, equipment running louder than it did at opening, a cover that no longer sits right - any one of these caught now is a quick fix.

Left over winter, the same issue tends to cost significantly more in the spring.

Fall pool closing is only 6 to 8 weeks out for most GTA homeowners.

Booking now, before the fall rush hits, is exactly what avoids costly surprises at spring opening.

Liner condition, equipment service, and safety cover sizing are the three worth sorting in August.

The average GTA pool season without a heater runs from late June to early September - roughly 10 weeks.

A gas heater or heat pump changes that math. Water that holds at 28 to 30 degrees Celsius in late September means swimmers comfortable in the pool when the air outside already feels cool.

For families who use the pool regularly, a heater returns its cost in season-hours quickly. It also means a closing date that fits your schedule rather than the weather.

August hits chlorine harder than any other month.

UV from direct sunlight breaks down free chlorine faster than your system replaces it. Heavy bather load and warm water temperatures push the demand higher at the same time.

The fix is not adding more chemicals at once. It is testing more often during heat waves, running the pump longer during peak sun hours, and checking your acid level - the stabilizer that protects chlorine from UV degradation.

If the stabilizer is low, the rest of your chemistry is fighting an uphill battle all month.

Homeowners who want a new pool or a full renovation for next season usually start that conversation in July or August. September fills up fast, and permit timing for spring builds often traces back to fall decisions.

If you are sitting in your backyard this month and thinking about what you would change, that thought is worth acting on now.

Heavy bather load, sunscreen, environmental debris, and elevated water temperatures all push the filter harder in July than any other month of the season.

A filter that has not been cleaned since the spring opening is doing less than it should. The sign is not always obvious - it is flow rate and water clarity dropping slowly before it becomes noticeable. Check the pressure gauge. If it reads 8-10 PSI above your normal baseline, it is time to clean.
