Climate action seems to have taken a back-burner for obvious reasons these days. POW does a great job on keeping that conversation going.

Had a great time with the crew at Limberlost on Saturday for World Telemark Day! The snow gods were good to us with new snow overnight which made for some fast and fun conditions. Terrain was amazing. So good to meet and ski with fellow forest sliders. Look forward to playing there again! Weekend slide and thoughts on the new 165cm Altai Tao

Testing the new 165cm Altai Tao this weekend. Overall was impressed with the downhill stability compared to the hoks. The ski has more flex then the Kom which makes it lively on the downs. Fun! I do like the stiffness of the Kom for hard charging though. Of course with the skins the Tao are great at climbing, not slipping out where the Kom (fishscales) do slip. What surprised me was the downhill speed of the Tao. Was expecting a more hok like glide down but they were not far behind the speed of the Koms. It might be the snow conditions and/or the way I ski with a tiak - with more weight on the tail. Will get some skiers on them and see what they think - for me they are a good fit when I want easy ups and downs. ❄️⛷

Shipping is free for the rest of 2024 if the rate is below $100. Some remote areas are more but will discount rate accordingly. Also have a few pair of slightly used hoks for sale - minor cosmetic marks only. (Note: Used hoks don't qualify for free shipping but I will discount the rate). Can't wait to try the Tao!

We have a new ski for this coming season. We call it the Tao which means mountain in the Altai. We have been testing on it since last spring. It runs about 10mm narrower than the Hoks (100mm in the waist). There is a integrated skin in the base and also inserts like the Hok. We also added a binding retention layer like the Koms to direct mount a wide selection of bindings. More downhill focused but still an excellent tourer.

Nice review on the hoks from last March. Note on the skins: they can be replaced quite easily if needed.. but they do last a long time. My hoks from 2015 are still in good shape ;)
