I promised to love you and make you feel loved
How our lives have changes since 8 years have gone by. From our first apartment where we said our vows, to the home where both our kids will grow. I hope that you know everyday I think about how you are, and I hope you know how much I love you.

I promised to listen with all my heart.
I hear you. I know how you feel and I will try forever to answer your needs, and to be your friend when you’re in need.

I promised to talk, and let you know how I feel.
Thank you for growing with me, and being a stronger friend to me day by day. I would be a shadow in the dark without your patience, caring and undoubted support.

I promised to always keep you in mind.
You’re all I care about. You and our girls are the fuel for my life’s fire.

I promised to be honourable and think things through with you.
You know all there is to know about me, and that brings me comfort in dark moments, and gives me strength.

I promised to smile and kiss you before you start your day.
I’m sorry if you’ve gone without a smile, but I can’t recall not smooching you for any reason. I’m sorry proud of how no matter what things are going on within our lives, I still need to smooch you before one of us leaves.

I promised to tell you I love you.
And even though I’m sure I’ve said it to you at some point today…I love you Dionne. Know that you’re the love of my life, and I look forward to loving you more every day. Because I love you more today than yesterday, and the day before that. You’re amazing.

I promised to play and sing for you.
You’re the reason I play and there’s always a song that makes me think of you.

I hope you feel loved. I hope that the life we’ve built gives you happiness every day. I hope you know that you are my role model, and I look to your guidance on so many levels. I hope you know how beautiful you are, and that I find you all kinds of sexy. I hope you know what a great mother and teacher you are to our amazing girls. They are a product of your awesomeness. Please join us for Dave’s Celebration of Life on Sat Nov 23rd at the North Simcoe Recreation Centre in Midland, drop in between 4-10pm for an evening of love, laughter & music. ❤️💔❤️

My heart is shattered 💔 The most amazing human I have ever known, Dave my husband, my home, my safe place, my person the man whom I love, trust, appreciate and value… my everything … suffered a massive heart attack and passed away on Tuesday morning.

I can’t seem to find the right words to describe how amazing he was…every word that resonates with love comes to mind and yet still isn’t enough. He was my best friend and I am lost. Our girls…💔 Dave lived for Addie and Lucy…every breath every thought was for them. He loved us so deeply, and with a huge open heart shared the words “I love you” with each of us absolutely every single day. I feel honoured and blessed to have shared 20 years of my life with him. The brilliant life we created, the love and laughter we’ve shared, the amazing humans we loved together is more than I could ask for…and not nearly enough. I will cherish every memory.

And he was so loved by so many…the outpouring of love that our family has been receiving, the stories and the kind words have been a welcomed distraction. And just knowing that the legacy he is leaving behind is one of endless love, kindness, thoughtfulness, deep friendship, love of music and of course humour is what is carrying me through right now.

Please continue to share your love for Dave with us…together we will keep him alive and our girls will have not only their beautiful memories of their dad but they will also have yours to remind them of the truly amazing human he was.

There will be Celebration of Life for Dave in the coming weeks, where there will be a space for everyone to share their stories, love and kind words. I will share all the details once we firm them up.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out and expressed their love and concern. I know that no one knows what to say or do…and please know that every message is holding my broken heart together 💔❤️💔

And regardless of the ups and downs, it is through our relationships that we explore and learn how to live our lives.

Our guest story teller this month, Jessica Greenwell, will be sharing how through her relationships with people and animals a fire was lit in her soul, sparking a shift that would forever change her story and her outlook on life!

Together we'll be exploring how to spark a little fire into the most important relationship in your life using a little activity I call 'Letter To a Friend'.
