After the thunder, lightning and heavy rain, today feels like a little bit of a turning point.

For the first time in what feels like a long while, it is so wonderful to step outside and breathe in fresh, clean air. We can see the smoke still sitting there on the edge in the distance, reminding us that this fire season is not over yet — but today, we are grateful.

And we are hoping for more rain. 🌧️🙏
A good, steady, soaking rain — the kind our forests, firefighters and communities desperately need.

To everyone who has been evacuated, displaced, or is still waiting and worrying about what comes next, our hearts are with you.

And to those who have lost their homes, belongings, or places filled with a lifetime of memories, there really are no words big enough. Please know that your neighbours and surrounding communities are thinking of you and standing beside you. ❤️

Sometimes Mother Nature reminds us just how quickly life can change. But she also reminds us that after days of smoke, there can be fresh air. After fear, there can be hope. And after the darkest clouds, the rain can finally come.
